★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum was fantastic but perhaps by accident. You will not learn anything about wine, barolo (neither the wine nor the region!), mankind, DNA or the universe (yes, the museum attempts to cover these topics as well…). It is instead an attempt at ‘deep’ meaning without direction which fails so miserably it is actually hilarious (favorites being the winged metronomes and the lips singing rock). My partner and I had our biggest laugh in a long time, well worth the steep entry fee. Buckle up for a great time, and please also buckle up the creator somewhere where he can’t cause more trouble!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is weird, in a mostly good way. I expected something much more traditional, the exhibits are a little kooky, bus till fun. View from the upper terrace is worth the price of admission and there is a nice tasting room in the cellar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Museums are not usually what I like best about traveling, but I loved visiting this museum. I found it visually appealing and colorful. Perfect view from the top outside. The subject matter, wine, is fun for me, and I thought it was presented well, including educational material that was fresh to me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is NOT a museum about wine. It's a random collection of arty farty nonsense that has absolutely nothing to do with wine. For example one of the rooms is filled with metronomes fitted with angel wings hanging from the ceiling (see photo). The most interesting rooms are the ones that are not part of the museum, where you can sometimes get a glimpse of how the castle used to look before it was destroyed by the museum.
