Über Google sind wir auf dieses Haus gestoßen. Einer der Eigner, Claudio der ausgezeichnet Englisch spricht, hat uns via Email sehr rasch und unkompliziert das Appartement La Ginostra reserviert, nachdem wir eine Anzahlung etwa in Höhe eines Drittels des Gesamtpreises überwiesen haben. Es handelt sich um ein steil am Hang gebautes hübsches Haus mit mehreren unterschiedlich großen Appartements, alle mit unglaublich spektakulärer Aussicht, einfacher aber zweckmäßigiger und vollkommen funktionstüchtiger Ausstattung. Claudio hat uns am Hafen abgeholt, anders hat man sonst keine realistische Chance das erste mal dorthin zu finden. In allen Belangen war er extrem hilfsbereit, angefangen von der Tischreservation in einem Restaurant in 20 minütiger Gehweite für den ersten Abend, über die Organisation von Motorrollern, die mit Sicherheit die vernünftigsten Fahrzeuge auf der Insel sind.

We came across this house through Google. One of the owners, Claudio, who speaks excellent English, reserved the La Ginostra apartment for us very quickly and easily via email, after we had transferred a deposit of around a third of the total price. It is a pretty house built steeply on a slope with several apartments of different sizes, all with an unbelievably spectacular view, simple but functional and fully functional furnishings. Claudio picked us up at the port, otherwise you don't have a realistic chance of getting there for the first time. He was extremely helpful in all matters, from reserving a table in a restaurant within a 20-minute walk for the first evening, to organizing scooters, which are certainly the most sensible vehicles on the island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The apartment is offering an excellent view of Lipari, and is located in a quiet place, in case a quiet holiday is the goal.
However, it's cheaply furnished (defo the sheets and towels need to be updated) whereas no shampoo, coffee, sugar etc. Are offered either.
We booked the apartment via a booking site, and had to pay the cleaning fee separately, since the owner doesn't want to request it online to make profit on the side. And guess what? The apartment was very dirty when we went in!
Since the place is secluded, the guests have a dependency on the owner, Claudio, since he advertises himself as "always willing to offer a ride to his guests until 7pm,to help them save money, tell them the best places to visit etc."
However, the guy isn't to be trusted! He's never punctual, always showing up at the agreed time to inform that "he's going to be ready in 15 minutes". Not to mention, he is always trying to up sell you and make it sound that he's doing it for you.
I would think twice, thrice, four times... Before going back again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place, lovely view to the sea and Vulcano island. Nice apartment, very high, almost for metres so cool in summer.
They made us dinner for 25€ per person which can compete with the best restaurants. Taught by their nonna's... We were picked up from the port.
Recommended.
