Such a unique and interesting historical Castle. There is no restoration, so you can see it slowly goes down.

Worth a visit if you're in Bagheria. I only wish more of the rooms of the villa were open for viewing. As it is the highlight are the wonderful and unique statues in the garden. It doesn't take long to see everything, I'd say half an hour. So 6€ seems expensive compared to other sites in Italy. However, I'm glad I went.

If you are staying out in Bagheria it's worth a visit to this quirky and charming villa. The Gothic statues will for sure keep you mesmerized. The place is small though. For the entrance fee you only see a few rooms and the garden just around the perimeter. No your guide or audio either. Just you and some endearing statues. This place is great to break up the sights of ruins and churches. It certainly adds some levity and a new conversation.

It is a beautiful circular enclave. The wild garden makes an intringuing cornice to the villa which is beautiful inside and out. Only a small section of the interior is open to the public but it is worth the trip. The ceiling of the squarish marble room is made with a mirror parchwork that is now pewter gray but, in its day, must have been sparkling at any hint of light. The sculptures perched on the garden walls survey the garden and the few tourists still are intriguing and beautiful in their own odd way.

A jump into the great past of Bagheria. I love this place and just unlike the reviewers complaining about staff not present everywhere, I must admit you will enjoy your visit even more as you can responsibly get into the accessible spots as you like. The architecture tells a story itself and I really appreciate the great selection of plants around the gardens. 4 stars as the price is unreasonably high (just for getting in).

A mysterious and grotesque villa, built and refined in the first half of the 18th century, fused today to the urban structure of Bagheria, however the ancient triumphal entrance arch is still visible. A variety of monsters, figures and beasts decorate the exterior walls and roofs while the interior invites you to a another dream-like dimension and more introspective journey, to the apogee of the mirror room, where inevitably vanity and impermanence are questioned. An interesting experience overall, from where you will not come out undisturbed. The place is privately owned - sad that they do not invest more to preserve this barocco jewel.
