It's really worth it for the landscape, which is amazing!

Far from main touristic routes, so it is not crowded at all. In fact we were alone at the site. Some floor mosaucs are in good condition, though there is nothing more to see, except for foundation of ancient houses. But the views from the top are magnificent. Worth a visit because of them.

I went here 1 week ago in the morning about 11 AM and the gate was closed. There was no sign on the gate, nobody there too talk to, no opening times sign, nothing. The gate could easily be opened also and was unlocked. There was an easy place to hop the fence by the restaurant. I almost went in regardless but my wife stopped me and I didn't want to get arrested or something in hindsight. Also nothing online was posted about it being closed. Even the restaurant was closed with nobody around. The information online says it is open 9:00-5:30. Several groups of people in cars were hoping to visit also while I was there for 45 minutes or so trying to figure out the situation and we were all disappointed. I was thinking it was COVID measures but at least make an effort to put up a sign or change if it is open online. Some local ladies were nearby and they told me they don't know why it is closed or when it opens. Also I spoke with 2 police officers later that also did not know have any information. Disappointing because I love history and I made an effort to go out there on the train. Beautiful view up there though and I had a nice time in the town/beach below.

We got here late in the day so it wouldn't be as hot. Once you pay the 4€ entrance fee you receive a map and you are on your own to explore the ruins. It's a cool walk with signs explaining some of the areas. Wish there was a little more info about what you are seeing though. There is a ramp on the left if you don't want to traverse the stairs. If you are in Bagheria it's worth checking out.

A must visit if you are in the area. Recommended to visit early in the morning or later in the day as there is almost no shade to find protection from the sun. The place has some mystic atmosphere. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to see yourself walking the an ancient streets among the original villagers. Stunning views. The place could use an update. None of the information signs are readable while there's so much to see that has a story.

There are no remains of temples, like in other magnificent archaeological sites in Sicily, but it is way more interesting than I expected (in some aspects more than other sites). Placed on a hill with beautiful views, quite close to the train station, to some picturesque beaches and to Palermo itself, I had a real blast walking around this site. The staff was very nice to me, I greatly appreciated it.:) As a note: payment is done with cash.

Great archaeological site. Make sure you have good shoes as the site has stoney paths. There are great views from the site. Beware little shade so sun protection is advisable.

Beautifully located on a mountain with amazing views all around. The entrance is €4 (and as in many places in Sicily they take cash and rarely have change). You can walk around by yourself and there are information signs in Italian and English. You can walk the whole place in an hour, we did it really slowly and spent 3 hours. The ruins are unfortunately not very well maintained and several mosaics are exposed and falling apart. But the nice thing is that since no areas are off limits it feels very immersive as you can walk around between the streets and ruins. Good shoes are a must since the ground isn't very even. We went in October during a weekday and had the whole place to ourselves.
