★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La strage di militari avvenuta durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, portò a realizzare in tutti i paesi un monumento ai caduti.
In alcuni casi si realizzarono dei viali alberati, dove ad ogni albero corrispondeva un militare morto, chiamandoli Viali della Rimembranza.
A Ficarazzi fu realizzata nello spiazzo davanti alla Torre di Ficarazzelli, una villa con al centro un Cippo commemorativo. Attorno furono piantumati tanti alberi quanti erano i caduti. Con legge del 1923 il Ministro dell'Istruzione vincolo' questi luoghi decretando che non si potessero alterare.
Oggi un magnifico Ficus Macrophilla riempe una parte della Villa, e costituisce un patrimonio storico e naturale unico, per il mantenimento della memoria civica.

In some cases, tree-lined avenues were built, where a dead soldier corresponded to each tree, calling them Viali della Rimembranza.
In Ficarazzi, a villa was built in the open space in front of the Torre di Ficarazzelli, with a commemorative memorial stone in the center. Around as many trees were planted as there were fallen. With law of 1923 the Minister of Education bound these places decreeing that they could not be altered.
Today a magnificent Ficus Macrophilla fills a part of the Villa, and constitutes a unique historical and natural heritage, for the maintenance of civic memory.
