We have visited Villa Campestri for 4 times now, and keep on coming back because it is such a nice place to relax, to enjoy the quiet environment and the great Italian food. The hotel is located on a hill and surrounded by a nice park. From the swimming pool there is a magnificent view over the valley. It is always quiet at the poolside, so it is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the weather. On different locations in the park, there are also chairs and tables available. The hotel itself is located in an old and beautifully restored ancient villa. A lot of effort has been done to keep the authentic character of the villa. All the rooms (we have had a whole range of different rooms already) are luxuriously decorated with antique furniture, wall carpets, paintings and mirrors and always smell very nice thanks to the perfumes being used. Everywhere in the hotel, nice books and magazines can be found about the region and its history, as well as bowls filled with fresh fruit from their garden. You clearly see that they give attention to all the smallest details to make the hotel a perfect place. The restaurant is also one of the best we have ever encountered, especially because we are real fans of Italian gastronomy. The menu has a very large selection of Italian dishes prepared with olive oil. The hotel produces its own olive oil and tries to be a knowledge centre of olive oil. We recommend the olive oil tasting: it was a real eye-opener to us to experience how different olive oil can taste. There is also a nice selection of Italian wines available for dinner. If you want good advise for which wine accompanies your dishes best, Dario, the restaurant maestro, is always very helpful to make you some recommendations. Breakfast is also nice and complete, with delicious pastries. All the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. This year we were a little late to make a booking, but after sending an e-mail they still found a way to host us for a a few nights. Upon arrival we were heartily greeted and were offered a welcome drink. It was very nice to see all the people we know there again and we appreciated the personal attention very much. We will surely be coming back here again many times.

We have regrettably just left Villa campestri after 3 nights, this rustic but luxury hotel is a gem of Tuscany with a passion for olive oil and hospitality. Please book the olive oil tasting, it is a unique experience that will open your eyes, delivered by a Maestro of olive oil. The grounds are vast and you are quick to appreciate the scale and beauty of the grounds, with olive groves overlooking the valley that provides glorious sunsets, sitting in the garden these are best appreciated with a glass of wine and some of the local Tuscan olives. The rooms are grand and classically decorated, with simple amenities to support your stay. Our room the prestige suite, was large and with a tall king size bed, a bathroom and a salon for relaxing. The pool is fantastic, clean and receives sunlight all day. The hotel charges €3 for a pool towel that is highly recommended and allows you to leave your bath towels in the room whilst you bathe, you will only 1 for your entire stay. There are the occasional bugs in the pool that can be expected in the Tuscan countryside that didn't impact our experience at all. The olive oil tasting is a once in a life time experience with such a well informed and passionate host, you will learn about the history of olive oil, how to enjoy it properly and discern good from bad oils. We have come away with a new appreciation for olive oil and what to buy in the future.

Wanna feel like a royal? Visit Campestri Hotel! We arrived to the hotel when it was dark, but we already could say it’s beautiful in there. Very friendly man at the reception showed us our room (which was beautiful and so comfortable), then he immediately informed the restaurant that was about to be closed, about our arrival, so we could eat delicious dinner and drink red wine. We tasted olive oil from various regions of Italy, including oil produced on the hotel grounds. Area around hotel was beautiful, it’s really hard to describe it, just go take a walk. Delicious breakfast, which you can eat in the garden and just relax. My heart was stolen by the chickens!!!

Such a beautiful and quite place with a great view over the valley. Perfect escape with great food. Rooms are rustically but with very nice ambient. Restaurant for lunch and dinner was good and variety for breakfast was great as well. Personnel and Owners are very friendly and focused on costumer satisfaction. Kids are welcome and having lot of space and can discover olive trees, chicken farm and several other things.

This lovely hotel has been the highlight of our time in Italy. We came with a tour group and spent 2 nights. Had we been traveling on our own we would have stayed longer. The owners and their staff are an absolute delight, and could not do enough for us to ensure an enjoyable stay. We attended a private olive oil tasting with the owner who was keen to share his extensive knowledge with us. The restaurant offered fresh and healthy options for snacks and meals, all served by friendly staff. The grounds of the property are stunning, with many walking trails. Our room was well appointed with a very comfy bed. We would definitely return for a longer stay.

UPDATE - Tried charging us 100 Euro - a week after we left, and after this review - accusing our dog of "staining" a blanket. Did not provide any evidence. Save your money and don't stay here if you have a dog. _______ While the villas are beautiful they aren’t necessarily the most practical. As mentioned in other reviews there is no air conditioning so while we are used to this it did have an impact on the quality of sleep - just something for future guests to keep in mind if this is something that’s important. The classic furniture adds a nice touch to the atmosphere but the bed was very uncomfortable. We couldn’t move or even sit on the bed without it squeaking and knocking against the wall. Since the mattress was sitting on top of a wooden board (rather than a box spring or slats) it just wasn’t as comfortable as maybe it could have been. In this way I would say referring to the villa as a “resort” is a bit of stretch. No complimentary water or coffee or other beverages in the room. While it’s a great place for a dog - it comes at a cost. At other places throughout Italy we would pay 5-10 euros per night for a fee so we are definitely used to this. Here it’s 20 euros a night - however unlike the other hotels they do not equip the dog with bowls or a bed which was a shame and a missed opportunity to make guests feel special. So in the end it’s more with less dog-friendly amenities. Since the villa is situated on an olive oil farm we decided to sign up for the olive oil tasting “experience”. It’s 50 euros per person - which was not what I would say the experience is worth. During the “tasting” we only had two olive oils to smell and sip - one from their farm and the other from Spain. The lecture seemed to lack structure and often we were the ones asked what we wanted to know more about, guiding the discussion - which was hard for us to navigate considering we were coming in with 0 knowledge. It was just my husband and I participating so maybe it could have been a different experience had other guests joined. The owner was obviously very kind and knowledgeable about olive oil and we did have a good a conversation around the topic. You can tell it’s a subject he’s truly passionate about which is a pleasure to see. However we left with a bit of a sour taste due to the expectations we had of the tasting. Before booking we watched the video on the website. So we were expecting something similar (which in our minds would also justify the cost) - In our version we were just told what kind of food some oil should go with but it would have made the experience much more memorable to be able to have samples of food to taste the oil with )as featured in the video on their website), along with more than just two varieties of oil.

Nice place to stay but your pleasure will be completely ruined by a virus hysterical owner who requires you to put on a mask to walk the 4 meters from your breakfast table to the buffet, where a tight masked (can she even breathe?) waitress will hand you the food items, all individually and tightly wrapped or in closed individual jars. All this in huge rooms with all windows open, only 4 guests around and in the middle of the countryside. And despite all that hysteria I am sure she doesn't disinfect the door knob of the hotel entrance or the credit card terminal. I, for one, can't enjoy a stay if I am reminded of that fabricated virus "apocalypse" as soon as I step outside my room. I left after one night because who wants to pay to be unnecessarily stressed? And dinner wasn't up to my expectations given the price and their "ristorante" web page. The room also was quite dark because it had only a very small window. Go further south in Italy, they are more relaxed and intelligent about this craziness.

A splendid villa in the midst of a superb landscape in a rather unknown corner of Toscana. The lady who owns the domain was very nice and helpful in giving advices on the trips we could do in the neighboorhood. We had, two times, a delicious dinner on the terrace, with a waiter who had a fantastic sense of humor. A wonderful place.
