Il forte costruito agli inizi del XVIII secolo fu fatto saltare in aria dalgli assediati con a capo l'abate calabrese Antonio Toscano il giorno di Sant'Antonio del 1799. Oggi giorno dopo decenni di promesse attende ancora un serio intervento di restauro e riqualificazione insieme a tutto il circondario.
Monument symbol of the resistance of the Neapolitan Republic against the army of the Holy Faith. The fort built at the beginning of the XVIII century was blown up by the besieged with the head of the Calabrian abbot Antonio Toscano on Saint Anthony's day in 1799. Today, after decades of promises, it still awaits a serious restoration and redevelopment project together with the whole neighborhood.

Trattasi di un antico fortino noto per la sua bellezza costruito nel lontano 1700 dal marchese di villena (manuel fernandez) da cui prese il nome e fu costruito per difendere napoli dagli invasori che venivano dal mare, ma poi fu costruito una centrale elettrica propio davanti e ne deturpó la bellezza.
Adesso si sta lottando per abbattere quel ECOMOSTRO......

This is an ancient fort known for its beauty built in the distant 1700s by the marquis of villena (manuel fernandez) from whom it took its name and was built to defend Naples from the invaders who came from the sea, but then a power plant was built right in front and disfigured its beauty.
