First, I am a solo traveller so I booked an all day trip already set with another group, but the other group with me cancelled and I did not check my email for awhile and just realized I had an email from Venice Kayak (asking if I could switch days possibly to be with another group) but they still gave me a private tour of Venice and the lagoon on the original day! They were obviously very accommodating to my situation and friendly about it. I had wondered why I was by myself (if solo they encourage you to book with another group) but was never hassled by them about it so I didn’t realize until now. Secondly, it was an absolutely great day. My tour guide told me lots of facts and history of the island. It was clear he grew up there and loved it. I felt very safe in the kayak and the guide checked in with me often to make sure I was comfortable. It was so interesting to see Venice from the canals and from something other than a gondola (which is 80 euros for 1/2 hour!!!). This was so much more worth the time and money than a gondola. I highly recommend this trip.

This is definately a unique experience and great way to explore the canals. Rene did a great job helping us set up the trip via email. M	Margit on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really good way to experience Venice. The tour was a great mix of different environments, and we sailed both in the open lagoon and the small canals. There was a bit of waves in the lagoon, which was fun, but might be a bit difficult for first time rowers. Our guide, Giovanni, was really nice and helpful, and very attentive that we had a fun trip and felt safe.

The tour was so good that we went on another tour the next day to explore the areas outside the city. On our next trip to Venice we will definitely book the Burano or Mystery tour. We can definitely recommend this way of exploring Venice to everyone.

We got to see Venice from a unique viewpoint that we otherwise never would have seen. Kayaking through the canals is unlikely anything we got to do during our week stay in Venice. Giovanni was our kayak tour guide and he did a truly outstanding job. We did the 3 hour mystery kayak tour and heard many great stories about ghosts, tragedy, murder, etc. My partner expressed to Giovanni at the onset of the tour that he likes history (he did the mystery tour really to appease me) so Giovanni gave us tons and tons of history throughout the tour too. I really appreciated his ability to individualize the tour to our interests. Overall, this was such an incredible experience. The next time we are back in Venice we absolutely will be doing another kayak tour.
B	Barry Johnson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really fantastic experience. I booked a solo canal + lagoon tour, which ran four hours. When I arrived at the location, fog prevented us from setting out for an hour (giving me a chance to wander around the fog-shrouded island), but we were out on the water the full four hours. It was a really great way to experience the canals of Venice and the salt marsh areas. My guide, Giovanni, was extremely personable and knowledgeable, as well as being quite safety-conscious when it came to crossing some of the higher-traffic areas of the lagoon. I'll do it again next time I'm there and would highly recommend it. Giovanni did a great job taking photos along the way, but if you are a real photo bug have a waterproof (or at least resistant) camera with a neck strap or a hook & lanyard to clip on, you might want to bring it.
