★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They dont tell you that you must have an F something type of mask, not regular or surgical masks. So when we were boarding, many people got turned away and then had to go buy new masks and missed our ferry. When I was buying the ticket the man asked if I had a mask and I said yes but they did not specify it has to be a certain type of mask and the signs do not say either.
THEN after changing my mask and waiting for another ferry, this ferry staff let a couple of people on with regular surgical masks.

Not a lot of swimming places but if you lucky enough you will find one behind Victoria royal hotel. Small bars shops and places to sit and enjoy fantastic view s. Ferries to Beladgio and other towns. 2.5 h trip to Como city. Ferries fully equipped with bars and conditioner

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ferry is a grate way to get around Lake Como to the different towns with or without a car. The ferry is quick and convenient.
It is also a grate way to get some amazing photos of the lake and mountains as well of the towns.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Varenna is a picturesque town on the eastern shore of the legendary beautiful Lake Como. The regional train from Milan to Varenna takes around 1 hour and the tickets costs almost 7 euros.
Varenna provides magnificent views over Lake Como. If you happen to arrive by train, it is almost a 10 minutes’ walk to Passeggiatta degli Innamorati (lovers’ walk). If you would arrive by boat, just walk a couple of minutes south. Lovers’ Walk is a walk way cantilevered over the water and gives you a chance for a great views of Lake Como. The walk way leads to the old port of Varenna where you will find some cafes and restaurants with an extremely relaxed ambience. You can also take a stroll among some souvenirs shops with very elegant and beautiful artifacts.
From there you may climb up to St. Georgio Piazza (7 minutes) which serves as something like the town’s center.
Varenna has many ferryboats lines connecting it to several towns on both shores of Lake Como.
You can always make Varenna your home base to explore Lake Como by car, train or by boats which is certainly the best way. A boat trip around the lake is unforgettable.
