★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si tratta di una valle completamente naturale e con attività antropiche limitate alla pastorizia, allevamento e poco altro. Consiglio una passeggiata nella strada che circonda ad anello la valle. In bici sarebbe l'ideale.
It is a completely natural valley with anthropogenic activities limited to pastoralism, breeding and little else. I recommend a walk on the road that circles the valley. By bike it would be ideal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Valle d'Arano è un piccolo altopiano situato nel territorio del Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente/Velino appena fuori dell'abitato di Ovindoli. È lungo circa tre km su altitudine di 1350 mt. s.l.m. con un dislivello di quasi 300 mt. tra il ponte sul torrente Rio Santa Jona-La Foce e l'area sovrastante i prati di Santa Maria. Il pianoro è circondato dall'omonimo anello che partendo dalla zona dei maneggi si inoltra nelle faggete che circondano i prati erbosi della valle fino alle pendici del monte Sirente. In fondo alla valle si trova lo sbocco delle gole di Aielli-Celano. Il torrente Rio Santo Jona riversa le proprie acque nel canyon fino a unirsi al Rio La Foce che a sua volta confluisce nei canali artificiali della sottostante piana del Fucino. Ottimo per fare trekking, mountainbike e d'inverno sci di fondo e ciaspolate.
The Arano Valley is a small plateau located in the territory of the Sirente / Velino Regional Natural Park just outside the town of Ovindoli. It is about three km long at an altitude of 1350 meters. s.l.m. with a difference in height of almost 300 meters. between the bridge over the Rio Santa Jona-La Foce stream and the area overlooking the meadows of Santa Maria. The plateau is surrounded by the ring of the same name which, starting from the stables area, enters the beech woods that surround the grassy meadows of the valley up to the slopes of Mount Sirente. At the bottom of the valley is the mouth of the Aielli-Celano gorges. The Rio Santo Jona torrent pours its waters into the canyon until it joins the Rio La Foce which in turn flows into the artificial canals of the Fucino plain below. Excellent for trekking, mountain biking and in winter cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una delle più belle passeggiate nei dintorni di Ovindoli. A Piedi o in bici è un tuffo nella natura. Peccato che i frequentatori non rispettino il luogo abbandonando rifiuti e cartacce...un vero peccato!
One of the most beautiful walks around Ovindoli. On foot or by bike it is a dip in nature. Too bad that the visitors do not respect the place by abandoning waste and litter ... a real shame!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una meravigloso percorso ad anello nella natura. Base di partenza per la salita al Sirente, la discesa nelle gole di Celano e il poco conosciuto sentiero della strada romana verso Aielli.
A wonderful circular route in nature. Starting point for the ascent to Sirente, the descent into the Celano gorges and the little known path of the Roman road towards Aielli.
