β β β β β It is rare that I write a bad review, preferring to encourage people to go to the wonderful places that I find instead of picking on the average places. Unfortunately, our stay at the UNA Hotel Regina was so awful that I had to write something.
My husband and I were planning to spend 3 nights, but the conditions were so bad that we left after 1 night. If we had arrived earlier in the evening, we wouldn't have spent even one night!
When we checked in, we were surprised that the grounds were a mess with leaves/debris everywhere and bird poop and green mold growing on all of the walkways and buildings . It was as if they had fired their grounds keepers and simply decided to neglect everything.
We were told at reception that the shuttle that was supposed to be available to take guests into town wasn't available so our only choice for dinner would be to eat in their restaurant. We were the only guests in the large restaurant and the waiter still couldn't remember our order. The food was mediocre at best.
We had to change rooms when the doorknob fell off in my husbands hand when he tried to shut the door...thus preventing us from being able to shut or lock the door. The second room (which they told us was the best one they had) was dark and dirty. The bathroom shower had lots of black mold growing in it and the bathroom floor had piles of dirt in the corners.
In addition to the queen bed, there was a twin bed in the room. We saw both a pincher bug and tiny black ant like bugs crawling on the twin bed. Luckily the queen bed appeared to be clean, but by this time I didn't trust anything.
In addition to it being filthy (or perhaps because of it) the place was deserted. I think there were only one or two other occupied rooms in the large complex. Overall, we felt that the UNA Hotel Regina should not be opened in the off season but instead spend the time cleaning and repairing the facilities.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone at this time.

β β β β β Big Hotel. The rooms were a bit small but cozy with a cool "old" signature. Great friendly service. Breakfast was great and delicious. The pool was nice and the water was clean. Its not so far from Bari and near a coastal town called Torre a Marre.

β β β β β Beautiful hotel. Nice rooms and forniture inside them. There is also the spa and a gym! How could you not like that? Yeah, the price is on the high side and you have also to consider that you are not so close to Bari (I mean I had to take a 40 minutes long trip to get to the central station)

β β β β β The hotel has an interesting, rustic decor and could be very beautiful but is oddly unkept. I reserved 2 rooms, one with 2 single beds and 1 junior suite. The rooms, although requested to be close to each other, were at complete opposite ends of the hotel. The suite was supposed to sleep 3, offered online as a triple. We were given a double bed with no option for my son, and had to upgrade the room for 20 euro per night. We were only staying one night so not too much of a problem, but not what we reserved and with an additional charge. Our suite was clean but the balcony is absolutely filled with pigeon poop and although private to our room, the next rooms bathroom window is on our balcony for view of the neighbors while using their bathroom. The restaurant at the menu offers dinner from only 20:00-22:00 and a limited menu. We did had plans to eat there but the menu did not offer many fish free options. We only saw 6 tables eating in the enormous restaurant at dinner. The waterslides advertised for the pool area are no longer in service. The pool closes very early at 19:30 Seating is limited. Finally the biggest problem is that we received a letter on our door to our room to close all windows and doors over night as they would be spraying pesticides! Definitely not what we wanted to pay to breathe poison all night. Because of all of these negative instances I would not recommend. Especially the upcharge for a bed in a suite I reserved for 2 adults and a child, and the pesticide spraying!

β β β β β The outdoor pool was closed (first week of June) while this was one of the reasons we chose the hotel.
Food is very good but atmosphere in restaurant so-so, very large space for little guests. We could not eat outside even though there were tables and chairs.
Room is okay but not very nice. The courtyard, and generally the outside of the hotel, is very beautiful.

β β β β β Nice location outside of Bari center with safe place for parking. Overall clean and quiet. Staff is friendly even though most of them donβt speak basic English. Room is decent size but not well maintained- mold in the bathroom, shower was leaking and mattress aged. AC you had to ask reception to manage and wasnβt working from the room. Spa and gym are good enough.

β β β β β Awesome hotel and amazing crew. The only downside is that if you don't have a car it is difficult to get places. Anyway there is a train station 15 minutes by walking distance.

β β β β β IMHO that place is good for people who for sure prefer rustic style of hotels - whole place seems like a bit typical egyptian standard hotel - it's clean and very old, wooden windows, poorly sealed doors (feels like almost no sound insulation from the outside), the floor inside the (ground floor level only) rooms is exactly the same as on the outside, stone, I found it unpleasant myself and forcing You a bit to wear shoes even being inside. Walking during the night outside might be a bit challenging, the pavement is not smooth and there's absolutely no outdoor lightning, I tripped over two times, (didn't fall though). A big issue was the loud air conditioning (because it's old I guess?), which was giving weird noises even when completely switched off. That's a bit of a no go for soft-sleepers.
Worst thing was that wifi was barely within a reach on quite a few rooms I've measured, when eventually worked it showed average 3mbps download (and 0,5 upload), 8mbps tops :O
Summoned technician answered, that he's not able to deal with both those issues and btw internet socket in the wall is not working, which was either a lie or lack of knowledge, cause it worked actually after I checked.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a hater, if you're looking for an old fashioned place with furnitures being like 80 years old and to spend Italian weekend with fiancee it's fine, go there. But if You go there for few weeks for delegation and like to watch YouTube or any other movie platform during evenings avoid this place as much as possible.
Wouldn't come back.
