★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a room w great view of Mediterranean Sea! Reasonable price and restaurant is great too. The drive to this hotel is tricky on a very narrow uphill road but manageable following the GPS.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this place many years ago. A real find. Stunning views. Beautiful rooms all combined with a friendly almost treat you like family hospitality. I recall it was tricky to find without satnav- but once up there its well worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked last minute and got a delux room at 279 per night. The room seemed fairly standard to me but did have spectacular views. Overall the hotel was nice and at the standard rate of 90 per night it seems reasonable but at the rate we paid there walkers small details which ruined the experience. One use plastic cups at breakfast, no glass wear in the room, a message on the fridge stating it was against the rules to use it for your personal items and a tiny tv from about 20 years ago. All in all a nice hotel but not worth the price we paid

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Castel d'Appio was a wonderful place to spend the night. They were extremely helpful, especially when we had trouble getting a cab from the train station to the hotel - they arranged it for us. We had to leave super early in the morning and they again saw to it that there was a taxi at the hotel for us, despite the few that are in the town. It's surrounded by lovely vistas, the room was comfortable and clean, and they were all so hospitable! Thanks again :)
