★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fatto il MTB Tour Antica Via Dei Cavalleggeri con Alessia e Samuele il 30 Luglio. Partenza ed arrivo alla Torraccia di San Vincenzo (Livorno). Il nome Cavalleggeri deriva dai “finanzieri” di epoca medievale che controllavano questo tratto di costa in concessione dallo Stato Pontificio alla Repubblica Pisana. Sentiero quasi sempre a mezza costa immerso nella macchia mediterranea; di tanto in tanto Il panorama si apre ed offre una visuale magica sulle scogliere e sulle isole dell’arcipelago Toscano, in primis l’Isola d’Elba. Quello che vedi ti ripaga ampiamente dell’impegno che richiede (per gente preparata a mio avviso). Loro preparatissimi tecnicamente e sul territorio. L’ultima salita sterrata di ritorno da Piombino, affrontata intorno a mezzogiorno, ha dei momenti di fachirismo; tutta da affrontare di testa. Il Tour te lo danno per 37 km e 650 metri di dislivello ma se vuoi ne fai almeno 44/45. Da fare ultima puntata su Populonia prima del rientro finale da Baratti. Memorabile!
Made the MTB Tour Antica Via Dei Cavalleggeri with Alessia and Samuele on July 30th. Departure and arrival at Torraccia di San Vincenzo (Livorno). The name Cavalleggeri derives from the medieval "financiers" who controlled this stretch of coast under concession from the Papal States to the Pisan Republic. Path almost always halfway up the coast immersed in the Mediterranean scrub; from time to time The panorama opens up and offers a magical view of the cliffs and islands of the Tuscan archipelago, primarily the Island of Elba. What you see pays you back for the effort it requires (for people prepared in my opinion). They are very well prepared technically and locally. The last dirt climb back from Piombino, tackled around noon, has moments of fakirism; all to face head on. The Tour is given to you for 37 km and 650 meters in altitude but if you want you can do at least 44/45. To do the last episode on Populonia before the final return from Baratti. Memorable!
