Della torre non c'è altro che la base malandata e permangono resti delle antiche fortificazioni, ma conoscendo la storia e la leggenda di Santa Augusta potrebbero risultare più affascinanti. Si trova peraltro lungo un percorso magnifico, non particolarmente impegnativo purché con allenamento e calzature adeguati (a tratti rocce e qualche buona pendenza). Gorgeous panorama. Of the tower there is nothing other than the dilapidated base and remains of the ancient fortifications remain, but knowing the history and legend of Santa Augusta could be more fascinating. Moreover, it is located along a magnificent route, not particularly demanding as long as with adequate training and footwear (sometimes rocks and some good slopes).

M	Marco on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sebbene si tratti di ruderi è un bel punto da raggiungere perché sembra di essere fuori dal mondo, senza però allontanarsi tanto dalla civiltà. Il tratto di sentiero per arrivarci è sassoso e un po' ripido, ma breve partendo dal santuario di S.Augusta. Un lato della ex-torre è aperto quindi si può entrare. Si trova a una 15ina di minuti sopra il santuario nel sentiero dell'alta via 6. There are only the ruins of the Black Tower built by Manducco at the peak of the Castle. Secondo la leggenda nel luogo all'interno della rocca in cui Re Matrùc martirizzò la figlia scoperta convertitasi al cristianesimo, lo stesso sovrano goto avrebbe fatto costruire poi il primo santuario in suo onore, disperato avendo capito la gravità della sua decisione. Il campanile dell'odierna chiesa era una torre dello stesso castello (lo si può notare dalla forma e dalle merlature ancora in sommità), e la stessa chiesa fu ampliata negli anni e la fortezza venne sempre di più a prendere le forme di un santuario. Questo sito penso sia l'ideale per la notte di San Lorenzo. Un buon paio di scarpe da trekking comunque è indispensabile But what a sight, breathtaking view.
