It is a magical place out of time, I was lucky enough to exchange thoughts with the owner Francesca at a wedding reception that was celebrated in that villa, a lovable person, to come back for a guided tour.

Nel corso degli scavi vennero rinvenuti tratti di strade, case, vasellame, macine, statue colonne e tombe. All’interno della Villa Manni vi erano le antiche terme romane del II sec. d. C. con annessi un calidarium, un frigidarium e un tepidarium riportati alla luce dagli scavi fatti realizzare da Corrado Manni nel 1948. Gli scavi archeologici restituirono anche il pavimento a mosaico delle terme; tutti i mosaici ritrovati sono conservati nei depositi presso il santuario di Ercole Vincitore a Tivoli. La volta del Frigidarium è esposta nel Museo Nazionale Romano. Trebula Suffenas, fu una città fondata dai Suffenati, popolo appartenente alla stirpe degli Equi. The archaeological site is located inside the privately owned Villa Manni, built right on the remains of the ancient city Trebula Suffenas. During the excavations, sections of roads, houses, pottery, millstones, statues, columns and tombs were found. Inside the Villa Manni there were the ancient Roman baths of the second century. d. C. with annexed a calidarium, a frigidarium and a tepidarium brought to light by the excavations carried out by Corrado Manni in 1948. The archaeological excavations also restored the mosaic floor of the baths; all the mosaics found are kept in the deposits at the sanctuary of Ercole Vincitore in Tivoli. The vault of the Frigidarium is exhibited in the National Roman Museum. Trebula Suffenas, was a city founded by the Suffenati, a people belonging to the Aequi lineage.
