The sting in the tail was the cover charge that came with the bill - a whopping 10 euros per person. While I understand that there is often a cover charge in Italy this one was ridiculous. There was no mention of this on the menu board at the entrance and the waiters didn't mention it. Our meal was 100 euros with an extra 50 added on for the cover charge. That's a hefty addition for one family! I questioned it with the waiter who gave me the bill and told me to go see the manager (apparently the manager was not sufficiently interested in his customers to come see us and explain). We paid and left having had our evening totally spoiled.
