★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an excellent meal and lovely evening here, the food is traditional with locally sourced ingredients, with plenty of delicious vegetarian optionions. We came here on our last night in Alessano and only wished we discovered it sooner. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was one of the most unique and memorable restaurant experiences I ever had in my life! The owner, who apparently is also the manager, waiter, bus boy and chef, (a real one man band) could NOT do enough for us. He was fantastic. We sat down and he did not even bring us menus. He just kept bringing us food - 10 courses! We had to decline the pasta because we were so stuffed so we ended up having 9 courses. OMG! This is a restaurant you do not go to to dine, you go there to EAT! The food was good but the enthusiasm the owner/chef/waiter showed us was incomparable. I would go there again in a heart beat. This is an EXPERIENCE, not just a meal - and a wonderful one at that. For all this food, the total cost was 15 euros per person. (There were 4 of us) Even with a 40 euro tip, I felt like I cheated him. Next time, I will give him 100e tip without hesitation. It felt like we were eating in his home and he was trying to repay us for saving his life. A MUST experience if you are in the area!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent meal, excellent service. Best meal we’ve had in our three week stay in Italy. Delicious plates of food were served to us that were all local ingredients including delicious organic wine, highly recommend La Lanterna :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the best meal we had in Italy. The space is relaxing, the owner is so kind and the food is fresh and delicious. So many courses, each better than the last, with fruit and limoncello to top it off. We will definitely go again before our trip is over!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a family run restaurant so I am told by my Italian friends, we were invited there as a party of nearly 30 for dinner. Food was good and in abundance although could have been more fresh. However the state of the toilets and wash basins is a different story, dirty and muggy. Not enough soap or tissue. My 4,year old refused to use the toilet and I don't blame her as it was really real dirty. It can do with a better condition and more fresh food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ja, ı didnt have good experience there bcz first of all they dont speak english and it was difficult to understand about food. Already they served us random traditional things that we didnt order. If you are interested with traditional kitchen of italy you can try. For me ı could like to try new tastes but this time it didnt work well at all

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every time we past this restaurant it was always full so we decided to give it a try. There is a big menu standing at the entrance and while we were reading and deciding what to eat we hear it’s menu of the day only. That’s it.
Suddenly different plates of food are brought to your table, you can’t choose and no one explains how many and which ones are coming. And then there is no bill on paper, you just get a price and you have to pay. We had no idea why we had to pay so much, since we stopped the food from coming. You can’t trust the prices mentioned on the menu.
From the 6 plates we got, only 2 where good.
One of us can actually speak Italian but there was no effort from the service to explain the concept of the restaurant to us.

There is no menu and no explanation, they just bring food to your table again and again. The food was really great and there was more than enough.
At the end they tell you a price that seems completely random and don’t bring you any ticket or anything that would justify the price they’re asking for. We had to ask 6 times to pay and ended up just leaving the money on the table after waiting for 30 minutes.
