Viano costituiva il centro del potere politico dei Bianchi e Monte dei Bianchi era quello religioso. Il borgo si sviluppa intorno alla torre in modo circolare. Del castello e delle mura non resta moltissimo. La torre rotonda era dotata di ingresso rialzato rispetto al terreno. era collegata tramite un ponte levatoio con il castello. Dove sorgeva questo adesso c'è uno spazio tipo piazzetta. Delle mura restano le torri semicircolari che sono atterrate a livello basamentale. Una è costruita vicino alla porta d'accesso e ora è inglobata in un' abitazione. ll periodo storico di costruzione, potrebbe essere a metà del XV secolo. Tutt'intorno al paese ci sono ancora ben visibili mura ad arco e parti antiche in macigno e bellissime volte. Alla base della Torre ora lo spazio viene utilizzato nel periodo estivo per feste paesane! The origins of Viano go back to the Bianchi d’Erberia family which then passed under the Malaspina dominion. La Torre is part of a part of the castle that was probably an ancient Roman pago. Viano was the center of political power of the Whites and Monte dei Bianchi was that of religion. The village develops around the tower in a circular way. Not much remains of the castle and the walls. The round tower had a raised entrance above the ground. it was connected by a drawbridge with the castle. Where this stood now there is a square-like space. Of the walls are semi-circular towers that have landed at basement level. One is built close to the access door and is now incorporated into a 'home. The historical period of construction could be in the mid-fifteenth century. All around the town there are still well visible arched walls and ancient boulder parts and beautiful vaults. At the base of the Tower now the space is used in the summer for festivals!
