★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Monumento storico tra i pochi rimasti che testimoniano la presenza della vecchia fortificazione di Bergamo bassa, quella delle cosiddett muraine. Fortificazione maldestramente andata distrutta ad inizio del 1900 per via di una decisione presa da persone miopi, incapaci di capire il valore storico e artistico che quelle mura difensive avrebbero tuttora rappresentato per la città di Bergamo e per i bergamaschi. La torre del Galgario continua la sua presenza da reduce di una architettura unica e purtroppo non più recuperabile.
Historical monument among the few remaining that testify the presence of the old fortification of lower Bergamo, that of the so-called muraine. Fortification clumsily destroyed in the early 1900s due to a decision taken by short-sighted people, unable to understand the historical and artistic value that those defensive walls would still have represented for the city of Bergamo and for the people of Bergamo. The Galgario tower continues its presence as a veteran of a unique and unfortunately no longer recoverable architecture.
