 The nougat and almond pastries were good, but the ones covered with pistachios were a bit expensive and cost 39 euros per kilo (ie pistachio pastes).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely, without hesitation, the best places on the planet that makes Pasti di Mandorla biscuits.
These are iconic traditional Sicilian biscuits made from almond paste and can be purchased in the classic flavour at €19 per kilo or with a hint of orange or lemon for €20 per kilo or with other ingredients such pistachio nuts or pine nuts from €29 per kilo. During the winter months they also make their special chocolate covered Pasti di Mandorla biscuits which combines two of my personal favorite tastes in one biscuit.
Tomarchio has been in the Catania area for decades and is renown for its fresh, baked daily dolce with no artificial colours or flavoring added.
Their new location offers a larger factory and retail store with ample off street parking. The store exhibits some old baking equipment used in times gone by.
For added freshness the biscuits are individually sealed in plastic. They also offer gift packaging in either their standard souvenir cardboard boxes or in the more expensive wooden boxes. These make ideal gifts to take back home to share a taste of Sicily with your family or friends.
If you love these traditional Sicilian biscuits or want to learn to love them, then this is a must visit place to shop.
