★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For two weeks this year, my partner and I stayed, or I more accurately, lived a life of joy, at La Locanda del Ruspante. It is the second year in a row that I have been given the gift of hospitality there.
I have many cousins in the Castro dei Volsci area, and the owner Pasqualino and the hostess Marianna are in near equal stature to my family of cousins. The food was outstanding, as it was raised in the nearby countryside or on the property itself. Lamb, chicken, local salsicce (sausage) made only in Castro del Volsci, fruits, breads, coffee and the best sauces and pasta you can imagine, are just a few of the gastronomic delights served by this wonderful Agriturismo. If you want to find a place to get to know the wonderful Ciociorria culture, to get away from the hustle and harangue of the cities, then choose here and you will be delighted. I will return to my favorite home away from home, as soon as I am able to go. As many have written before me, Marianna as the hostess and Pasqualino, as the owner with his wife, and all the staff in the kitchen and rooms, are the most friendly and helpful that you can imagine. Come to this place, stay, eat and rest, in between taking relaxing days trips to the amazing scenery that surrounds you. It’s the experience of authentic Italy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazing small and original hotel as well as restaurant! For extremely fair prices you get a lot of the best things Italy has to offer. Sleeping in beautiful original bedrooms with the windows open, you hear the birds all night and can enjoy the fresh air. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming and put a lot of effort into making your stay memorable. Please come here and enjoy as well!
