★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing because they’ve concreted over a lot of it. Don’t pay the €4 entry fee and instead walk around the side in piazza della liberta to see the whole things from the road.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the gems of Spoleto well worth a visit. The theatre is an excellent example of Roman architecture.
The climb up to the centre is quite steep but I would recommend using the escalators which can be found at the back of the town centre near the public parking lot.
Be sure to visit the cathedral and the bridge for some exceptional views of the valley below.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well preserved Roman theatre. A testimony to the ancient Roman character of Spoleto. It was closed when I was there but actually it didn't seem like anything special considering we are in Italy and these things are everywhere. There is limited pay parking on the street nearby. It's a good location to start exploring the city. Parking was 1.50 euro per hour. No car access from 00:00 to 11:00.
