★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hotel option in Firenze. Good value for the location, kitchen available, breakfast offered and friendly staff. Bred and Nadja are good people. Room as spacious, clean and could have a good rest before and after the marathon. Definitely recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Okay.... the owners are welcoming and attentive. However, the place is outdated; the pillows are lumpy such that it’s evident they are old and have dust mites, the bedding and mattress are old, the shared bathroom is gross and the rug is always soaking wet. It’s okay if you just need a place to crash but I would pay $30 more a night to get something more comfortable.

I would feel it's closer to a hostel than a B&B
I would raise the one issue that noise was a problem when we stayed. Other guests decided to make loads of noise at 4am onwards so it kept us up all night. Also we were by the communal bathroom it was a little noisy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super duper place and host! I have been to Florence 5-6 times now, and each time I try to stay at the Strange Uncle's if possible. The rooms are always clean, the location is right in the center and the hosts, Brad and Nadia are just fantastic. Higly reccomend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great accomodation in a great spot of Florence! Bred and Nadia are excellent hosts and will make your stay a wonderful experience. All the main sights are just a stroll away and the hidden gem of the San Lorenzo market is just out of the door. Definitely recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stayed at The Strange Uncle a few times when I have been in Florence. The apartment is right in the centre of the city and has been wonderfully renovated - it is quirky and modern but retains many original features. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and modern. The hosts (Bred and Nadja) are lovely and super helpful - they can recommend local restaurants and day trips. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Strange Uncle was by far the best place I stayed in all of Italy! The rooms were lovely, they provided everything I needed and were affordable and very clean. The atmosphere they’ve cultivated is wonderful, full of creatives and the walls are full of eclectic notes from past visitors admiring how amazing the hosts are. It’s in the perfect location to get around Florence with ease and the hosts had some really incredible local gems to share which took me out of some of the more touristy areas to be able to enjoy the authentic heart of Florence. I recommend them to everyone I know who visits there and will absolutely stay with them again when I go back! 5 stars simply doesn’t seem like enough. Ciao!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Badly decorated interiors, thin walls, bar chairs at the dining table??, bathroom was shared, sheets were not clean. Comfy bed though, and a working washing machine earn plus points.
