Attualmente per il trasporto passeggeri esiste solo il collegamento con la città di Benevento dove si può trovare una più ampia scelta di corse ferroviarie. La novità consiste nella riapertura della storica tratta Avellino Rocchetta Sant'Antonio che offrirà la possibilità, a partire dal 26 maggio, di effettuare viaggi con convogli storici messi a disposizione da Fondazione FS grazie al contributo della Regione Campania. Il rilancio della stazione ferroviaria passa anche da questi eventi e, grazie alle associazioni e alla Soprindentenza BAAS di Salerno e Avellino, le strutture più antiche del complesso ferroviario vivranno giorni migliori. The relaunch of the railway station also passes through these events and, thanks to the associations and the BAAS Superintendence of Salerno and Avellino, the oldest structures of the railway complex will experience better days.

Dà la possibilità di arrivare direttamente alla stazione dove cambiare per il regionale Napoli-Sapri. I tempi di percorrenza sono decisamente lunghi, più di un'ora per una tratta che in auto si percorre in mezz'ora al massimo. Stazione decentrata da raggiungere obbligatoriamente in macchina se si hanno bagagli. La stazione di per sé non offre servizi, ma il bar di fronte è aperto sempre. In attesa di un treno a due passi c'è la chiesa di San Francesco che ospita un interessante affresco moderno. Interessanti i treni storici sulla tratta storico-turistica Avellino-Rocchetta, perchè non riaprirla definitivamente a scopo commerciale con orari consoni alle esigenze dei pendolari, almeno fino a Lioni, per evitare anche lo spopolamento delle zone interne? Station quite safe, too bad for the few connections to Naples and Salerno. Interesting historic trains on the Avellino-Rocchetta historical-tourist route, why not finally reopen it for commercial purposes with times suited to the needs of commuters, at least up to Lioni, to avoid the depopulation of inland areas?
