★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Risplende di colori, Mergellina, nelle giornate di sole a Napoli. I colori delle barchette dei pescatori di zona, dei più grandi gozzi carichi di reti, i colori dei capanni che ospitano ( sulla spiaggetta che affianca la strada) gli attrezzi di pesca necessari per le uscite in mare. Poi, di sera e fino a tarda notte, Mergellina brilla per le luci dei numerosissimi chalet dove ci si può accomodare gustando le specialità napoletane: pizze , pizzette e i famosi dolci partenopei , sfogliatelle , pastiere e i deliziosi babà (un indirizzo? Lo chalet Ciro). Da segnalare i pittoreschi banchetti di ostricari con mitili e crostacei circondati dal giallo di freschi limoni. Mergellina è un sito molto piccolo ma bellissimo con uno splendido panorama. Il suo porticciolo affascino' persino il grande poeta latino Virgilio, che qui
scrisse le sue Georgiche. Alle spalle del porticciolo una piccola ma graziosa funicolare raggiunge la zona collinare soprastante . A poca distanza dalla funicolare c'e' la Piazzetta del Leone con una bella fontana caratterizzata da un leone di marmo. Un aspetto negativo? Il traffico continuo che nelle ore di punta infastidisce, rende difficile attraversare la strada e provoca frastuono e inquinamento. Possiamo assolvere Mergellina per questi inconvenienti? Forse si per tutto ciò che offre e che abbiamo descritto.
 Mergellina shines with colors on sunny days in Naples. The colors of the local fishermen's boats, the largest goiters loaded with nets, the colors of the huts that host (on the beach that flanks the road) the fishing gear necessary for going out to sea. Then, in the evening and until late at night, Mergellina shines for the lights of the numerous chalets where you can sit and enjoy the Neapolitan specialties: pizzas, pizzas and the famous Neapolitan sweets, sfogliatelle, pastiere and the delicious babà (an address? The Chalet Ciro) . Note the picturesque oyster stalls with mussels and crustaceans surrounded by the yellow of fresh lemons. Mergellina is a very small but beautiful site with a splendid panorama. he wrote his Georgics. Behind the marina a small but lovely funicular railway reaches the hilly area above. A short distance from the funicular there is the Piazzetta del Leone with a beautiful fountain characterized by a marble lion. A negative aspect? The constant traffic that annoys during peak hours makes it difficult to cross the road and causes noise and pollution. Can we absolve Mergellina for these inconveniences? Maybe yes for all that it offers and that we have described.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La funicolare di mergellina è ormai chiusa da più di un anno. Un vero scandalo. Era molto comoda dato che da via Manzoni si raggiungeva in pochi minuti Mergellina. Veniva usata soprattutto dalle tante persone a servizio delle case della zona... forse è per questo che non riapre. Evidentemente il comune li considera cittadini di serie B. Riaprite la funicolare!!!!
The mergellina funicular has now been closed for more than a year. A real scandal. It was very convenient since from via Manzoni you could reach Mergellina in a few minutes. It was used above all by the many people serving the houses in the area ... maybe that's why it doesn't reopen. Evidently the municipality considers them second-class citizens. Reopen the funicular !!!!

Zero, perché hanno deciso di farla smettere di esistere. Rimarrà chiusa fino a nuova data da destinarsi. Grazie sindaco! Adesso bisogna aspettare un pullman navetta, il 631, che finisce di correre alle 19. E passa ogni mezz'ora, mentre prima la funicolare faceva orario 7-22 e passava ogni 10 minuti. COME UCCIDERE IL TURISMO DI NAPOLI
