 Castellaneta small town ... a few km from the spectacular sea .... and also home to the Valentino museum dedicated to the famous actor because it was also the birthplace of RODOLFO VALENTINO himself .... THE STATUE DEDICATED TO HIM ... PLACED ON THE SO-CALLED WALK.....

I recommend everyone to come to Castellaneta.❤

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Opera commemorativa dedicata a Rodolfo Valentino (Guglielmi), celebre divo del cinema muto, nato a Castellaneta nel 1895. Il monumento, commissionato al Maestro Luigi Gheno proprio dalla città natale dell'attore ed inaugurato nel 1961, a 35 anni dalla sua morte, avvenuta negli Stati Uniti, è stato poi restaurato nel 2014. L'impianto dell'intero monumento rappresenta un palcoscenico, con al centro l'attore nelle vesti del figlio dello sceicco. Il tutto realizzato con materiali tradizionali come la pietra calcarea bianca e le tipiche ceramiche colorate.

The monument, commissioned to Maestro Luigi Gheno from the actor's hometown and inaugurated in 1961, 35 years after his death. in the United States, it was then restored in 2014. The whole structure of the monument represents a stage, with the actor at the center in the guise of the son of the sheikh. All made with traditional materials such as white limestone and the typical colored ceramics.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simpatico monumento dedicato al famosissimo attore Rodolfo Guglielmi, in arte Rudolph Valentino, che deve i natali alla località pugliese di Castellaneta.
Il monumento è decisamente orribile, brutto in maniera imbarazzante, però è simpatico ed è corredato anche dì una interessante scheda biografica con tanto di fotografia dell'attore e ballerino pugliese.
Inoltre è ben posizionata in un marciapiede panoramico non distante dalla piazza Umberto I nonché dalla casa natale dell'artista.

Nice monument dedicated to the famous actor Rodolfo Guglielmi, aka Rudolph Valentino, who owes his birth to the Apulian town of Castellaneta.
The monument is decidedly horrible, ugly in an embarrassing way, but it is nice and is also accompanied by an interesting biographical card complete with a photograph of the Apulian actor and dancer.
It is also well positioned in a panoramic sidewalk not far from Piazza Umberto I as well as from the artist's birthplace.
