All'interno ti lascia con il fiato sospeso!! Mi sono ripromesso di ritornarci a breve !! Sia per la bellezza e da come è ben curata sia all'interno che all'esterno! Perfettamente restaurata e conservata, è sempre visitabile grazie a sistemi di video sorveglianza. Suggestivi gli antichi affreschi e la cripta, così come il foro nella parete absidale che il giorno di sant’Urbano fa cadere un raggio di luce su una precisa area della parete. Attrezzata anche per sosta e ristoro, dietro richiesta al punto informazioni. Superb example of Romanesque with Gothic details, the abbey is located in a very suggestive position in the countryside. Perfectly restored and preserved, it can always be visited thanks to video surveillance systems. The ancient frescoes and the crypt are evocative, as is the hole in the apsidal wall that on the day of St. Urbano lets a ray of light fall on a specific area of the wall. S	Stefania Porfiri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ciò che rende originale questa chiesa abbaziale rispetto ad altre coeve è il fatto che lo spazio dedicato al pubblico dei fedeli sia completamente separato, tramite l'erezione di un muro trasversale, dal presbiterio sopraelevato destinato ai sacerdoti celebranti il culto religioso. Solo il pulpito connette al momento della predica i sacerdoti con i fedeli. Un'altra particolarità è il fenomeno del raggio luminoso che partendo da un "occhio" collocato sopra l'abside va a colpire due volte l'anno, il 25 maggio e il 19 luglio, un cerchio posto in basso ad una colonna all'ingresso della chiesa, nella navata sinistra. Tutto intorno non c è alcuna costruzione, ma nella giornata di sole la natura tutto intorno brilla di semplicità. La struttura è perfetta ben tenuta...e sempre aperta. Da gustare in silenzio, da visitare in una giornata di sole, magari durante il solstizio d estate.... Un raggio di sole entra all interno dell' abbazia ... Una magia. Da vedere! The Abbey of Sant'Urbano is a jewel in the desert. All around there is no building, but on a sunny day the nature all around shines with simplicity. The structure is perfect well maintained ... and always open. To be enjoyed in silence, to be visited on a sunny day, perhaps during the summer solstice .... A ray of sunshine enters the abbey ... A magic. To be seen!

A	Angela Baron on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ From the views, to the staff, to the abbey, to the food this was a fantastic experience! We checked in and even with a slight language barrier, we were treated warmly by the people who run it. The meal... just amazing. We had the gnocchi con formaggio di fossa, a chicken dish that had a smooth buttery sauce with rosemary, apple pie with vanilla gelato... the chef even sent us a roast pork that was truly a great dish on its own. The rooms felt cozy and authentic, the beds were perfection, the abbey cat even gave us a visit! The next morning we explored the surroundings. Take some time in the abbey, it's not just beautiful but felt very spiritual and awe inspiring. This felt like we weren't tourists, but really got something from the experience of just being in Italy. I loved it!
