Quando si arriva in una clinica riabilitativa si è fragili, impauriti ed incerti sul futuro, per lo meno io lo ero: un grave trauma cranico e la complicanza di una embolia polmonare mi avevano costretta in ospedale per quasi un mese, camminavo male e, fra altre problematiche, non avevo equilibrio né forza. Nella ‘Casa di cura San Francesco’, già dale prime ore, mi sono tranquillizzata: il clima sereno ed accogliente mi ha rasserenata e la grande professionalità e serietà del personale tutto hanno fatto il resto. In un tempo brevissimo, poco più di tre settimane, cammino bene, sono più forte e posso continuare la mia riabilitazione da casa. Non posso che essere grata per aver affrontato il momento forse più difficile della mia vita in questo luogo, dove la cura e l’attenzione per il paziente sono davvero altissime, non solo nell’aspetto strettamente medico, ma anche nella cura della pulizia, del cibo, dell’umore. Grazie a tutti di cuore e, pur avendo avuto modo di apprezzare il lavoro di tutto il personale ed in particolare dei bravissimi fisioterapisti, devo ringraziare in particolare il dr Mascaro per l’innegabile autorevolezza vestita di dolcezza e simpatia e i miei due angeli: i fisioterapisti Manuel Abruzzese e Manuela Pecora, per avermi in poco tempo rimessa in piedi. When you arrive in a rehabilitation clinic you are fragile, scared and uncertain about the future, at least I was: a serious head injury and the complication of a pulmonary embolism had forced me to hospital for almost a month, I walked badly and, between other problems, I had no balance or strength. In the 'San Francesco Nursing Home', from the very first hours, I calmed down: the serene and welcoming atmosphere calmed me and the great professionalism and seriousness of the staff did the rest. In a very short time, just over three weeks, I walk well, I am stronger and can continue my rehabilitation from home. I can only be grateful for having faced perhaps the most difficult moment of my life in this place, where the care and attention for the patient are very high, not only in the strictly medical aspect, but also in the care of cleaning, food, mood. Thanks to all of my heart and, despite having had the opportunity to appreciate the work of all the staff and in particular of the talented physiotherapists, I have to thank in particular Dr. Mascaro for the undeniable authority dressed in sweetness and sympathy and my two angels: the physiotherapists Manuel Abruzzese and Manuela Pecora, for having me back on my feet in a short time. Luca Vena presso la clinica Scarnati in Cosenza, sono stato accolto con grande premura presso la Casa di Cura 'S. Francesco' in Mendicino. Ringrazio innanzitutto il direttore sanitario, dott. Antonio Mascaro che mi ha seguito giornalmente ascoltando le problematiche che via via si sono presentate, poi il personale tutto che con attenzione e dedizione si è adoperato nei riguardi dei pazienti. Anche quanti operano in cucina cercano di accontentare le richieste fatte per intolleranze a cibi. I terapisti sono eccezionali, sia dal lato umano che riabilitativo. Ho avuto la fortuna di essere seguito da Manuel Abbruzzese, punto di riferimento per i terapisti tutti che si rivolgono a lui per ogni difficoltà. In pochi giorni è riuscito a rimettermi 'in piedi', dando forza e tonicità al ginocchio e ai muscoli. Sempre pronto ad accogliere richieste, dubbi, sofferenze e ad adattare gli esercizi alla mia condizione fisica. Si è creato così non solo un rapporto tra terapista e paziente, ma anche di amicizia che, nella situazione di sofferenza e di restrizioni attuali per il Covid-19, è risultato veramente salutare. Un grazie anche al terapista Enrico con il quale ho molto parlato e scherzato. E anche questo è importante. Always ready to accept requests, doubts, sufferings and to adapt the exercises to my physical condition. Thus, not only was a relationship between therapist and patient created, but also a friendship which, in the current situation of suffering and restrictions for Covid-19, was truly healthy. Sono stata accolta con estrema gentilezza dal Personale di turno. Ho ricevuto la stessa mattina la visita del Direttore Dott.Mascaro persona assai perbene ed estremamente umile, presente quotidianamente insieme al suo eccellente team per ascoltare e soddisfare tutte le esigenze di noi pazienti. I giorni di ricovero sono stati piacevoli perché li dentro non mi sono sentita mai un numero ma una persona curata con dedizione e professionalità da TUTTI. Ringrazio il mio Fisioterapista Manuel che con la sua autorevolezza e professionalità e' riuscito in pochi giorni a riabilitarmi. I was greeted with extreme kindness by the staff on duty. The same morning I received a visit from the Director Dr. Mascaro, a very respectable and extremely humble person, present daily together with his excellent team to listen and meet all the needs of us patients. The days of hospitalization were pleasant because inside I never felt like a number but a person treated with dedication and professionalism by EVERYONE. I thank my Physiotherapist Manuel who with his authority and professionalism managed to rehabilitate me in a few days. I remember with great respect all the collaborators of the Rehabilitation Department, all very good.

Almeno a casa c’è il calore della famiglia. Esperienza personale.
