★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did not get all the way to the top as the path is dangerous past a certain point. The entire river as far as I did get was completely dry. Do not waste your time and energy going to this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely hike! Maybe pay extra attention to the hand written signs for we walked 20 minutes past the river and out of the tourist information map of Varenna

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hike up a hill is satisfyingly challenging but not far at all. There are places that are a bit of a scramble, so good shoes and steady legs needed! We carried a baby up, so it’s not that bad! (Do NOT attempt with a stroller)
The top has a wonderful picnic and bbq area. We took pastries and drinks from Fiumelatte’s bodega and enjoyed these at the top.
