S	Sonia Testa on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Si narra che alcuni pescatori di San Felice Circeo, tirando le reti gettate nel lago si accorsero di aver recuperato una statua lignea raffigurante la Madonna con Bambino. Portarono la statua in una chiesa ma il giorno seguente, tornati a pescare sul lago, scorsero sulla riva, vicino al luogo del ritrovamento, nuovamente la statua della Madonna posta su di un grosso ceppo di quercia. Compresero così che la volontà della Madonna era di rimanere sulla sponda del lago e intorno a quel ceppo costruirono la chiesa che è molto suggestiva. Una piccola chiesetta all’interno della quale è esposta la statua lignea di una Madonna con Bambino. Luogo caro ai sanfeliciani, oggi è conosciuto anche all’estero ed attrae pellegrini e turisti, che raggiungono il santuario per pregare e ammirare la bellezza del posto. Avvolto dal mistero e dalla natura, il santuario della Sorresca ha una storia intricata e affascinante. Sorge sulle rive del lago di Paola sui resti di una villa romana del I secolo, all’inizio del braccio dell’Annunziata, dove la terra forma una piccola penisola. Da anni è un importante luogo di culto e pellegrinaggio per i sanfeliciani; oggi grazie al crescente turismo, la sua fama ha oltrepassato il confine, attirando turisti e pellegrini anche dall’estero. Risale all’inizio del VI secolo, anche se una ristrutturazione degli anni 60 ha lasciato ben poco della struttura originale. All’interno della chiesa si trova la statua lignea dalle Madonna della Sorresca di autore ignoto, probabilmente risalente al Duecento. Peccato che chi doveva aprire, alle 16, si sia presentato alle 17 dopo una mia telefonata, a cui ha risposto uno molto maleducato, che mi ha detto: e arriverà... : e mi ha pure detto che facevo la spiritosa dopo che gli ho risposto che se fosse arrivato alle 8 io me ne andavo prima. D	D V on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo ameno. Consigliato al tramonto, colori memorabili da apprezzare in riva al lago. In orario invernale è aperta dalle ore 16 alle ore 19 dal Venerdì alla Domenica. Pleasant place. Recommended at sunset, memorable colors to be appreciated by the lake. In winter time it is open from 4 pm to 7 pm from Friday to Sunday.
