Il castello venne posseduto dalla repubblica Senese e poi a vari casati nobili, tra essi i Chigi. Attualmente privato, il castello, una torre a base quadrata e pochi resti di abitazioni, vi si arriva deviando dalla strada di Montalcino
An ancient territory between the Ombrone and the Orcia, mentioned in a re-written by Lodovico il Pio in the IX century, where it is said that the land is donated to the abbot of Sant'Antimo. The castle was owned by the Sienese republic and then to various noble families, among them the Chigi. Currently private, the castle, a square-based tower and a few remains of houses, can be reached by deviating from the Montalcino road
