There is simply nowhere better to learn Italian. I first studied at the Scuola back in 2008 and returned this year for their intensive online course over lockdown. The combination of fun and professionalism is unique in my experience of language study. The teachers are wonderful, the course programme well-structured and engaging, and as a result a collaborative and fun class dynamic follows every time with an all too deceptive ease. If you want to learn Italian and have a meaningful study experience, this is the place.

I took an intensive online course on Zoom with the Scuola and enjoyed every second! Our teacher (Carla) did an excellent job at creating as much of a lively, fun "real classroom" experience as possible. I was incredibly impressed by how well the SLdV lays foundations for its students to make lots of progress very quickly. Each of the eight textbooks that I received electronically from the school (Beginners 1-4 and Intermediate 1-4) had been meticulously produced and was clearly a well thought-out path towards good language learning practices (right from numbers and the alphabet, to the dreaded subjunctives!). All of this was rooted in the wealth of culture for which Italy and the Italian language are so well loved - a real treat for those of us who could not be 'in Italia' in times of Corona! An exceptionally good language school and I will not hesitate to choose the Scuola Leonardo da Vinci again in future (though hopefully in Florence and in person next time!!!)

I was in this school in Florence during the last week and I really enjoyed it. It was much better than I expected and I was really impressed with the teaching level and teachers’ approach to the students. My teachers were very experienced and had great teaching methods. Lessons were very interesting, diverse and joyful. Moreover, there are very interesting trips organised for the students. Italian culture is presented in a very unique way. I recommend it to everyone, all ages, nationalities and language skills?? Un ringraziamento speciale alle mie professoresse: Antonella e Vittoria ????? ??

One of the good things to come out of this pandemic are the online Italian classes that were started on the Zoom platform after the shutdown of live classes in March. I had visited Scuola Leonardo da Vinci several years ago to get some information on taking an intensive program in Florence. A return to work delayed my plans. I was so happy the school had kept my contact information and sent me an email in March announcing the new programs. Early every morning, Monday - Friday, I participated in the intensive program for 12 weeks, then I transitioned to the Part-Time program, twice a week. The teachers, custom materials developed by Scuola LDV and class format are the best I have ever experienced in my attempts over the years to improve my Italian language skills. First of all, there is nothing that can substitute for a native Italian speaker who has professional level training to teach Italian to a foreign student, and this is an important feature of Scuola LDV. My teachers, Francesca, Simona and Antonella are very patient, friendly, skilled at making learning a very enjoyable experience. They use a teaching format that facilitates speaking Italian, the hardest part for many of us. Consequently, my speaking skills have improved. It is a great pleasure to meet students from all over the world and I feel that I have made many new friends. The Zoom platform worked amazingly well and even allowed small group breakout sessions. You would not know that online teaching was a new format for these teachers given how well they used the technology. Becoming fluent in Italian is a long-term endeavor and I am so pleased with the improved Italian proficiency as well as insights into Italian culture that I have gained through my participation in these classes. While attending live classes and experiencing all the wonderful aspects of living in Florence would be ideal, until it is possible to travel, I will continue my classes online with Scuola LDV.

I studied at Scuola Leonardo Vinci Firenze for 12 weeks in this year. I liked that the students are various ages and come from the many different countries. Teachers are so awesome. The course books are unique to the school. Also school location is in the heart of Florence.

Overall very good. My normal class teacher was very patient and good at explaining complicated grammar rules. She was also extremely helpful. My teacher from the conversation language was not as good and had a positive bias towards men, despite having only one in class versus 5 women and despite her being a woman herself.

I have been studying Italian for a couple of years via different online classes. Between those various online courses and Duolingo, I learned a lot of words, some verb tenses and basic grammar. I signed up to take the B1 Citizenship exam, and I wanted to immerse myself in the language prior to the exam in order to put everything together. My objective was to improve my listening and speaking skills and to take all of my disparate learnings and cobble together a functional (if limited) understanding of the language. My two teachers - Vittoria and Carla - were great (in truth, everyone was great, including the helpful people at the front desk and the other teachers that I briefly interacted with). I don't know the outcome of the exam yet, but I felt confident enough to take it...and that's the important thing. O ho superato o ho fallito, ma ho provato! I wish that I had had time for another week or two. I enjoyed the classes, and I'm sure that with another couple of weeks, I would have crushed the exam.

Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci was the best school I could have chosen to complete my Italian language course during vacations! I was there for two months and they were incredible!!! The school has amazing staff and teachers, the method of learning is very active and brings great results for the students! I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Italian! It’s so much more than the language: it’s the culture, the friends you make, the experiences you acquire and the Scuola Leonardo is a great bridge to encounter all of this! Thank you !!!! I miss all of you! ?? ❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️❀️
