β β β β β A highly decorative church building away from the tourist areas of Venice. It was very peaceful and had a vibrant collection of paintings and some artefacts.

β β β β β A hidden treasure with fascinating history and paintings and frescoes. The scale is more human than the grand monuments. Well worth searching out.

β β β β β Although it lies a little off the beaten track, the Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni is well worth seeking out. This small, intimate space belonged to the cityβs Dalmatian community and its walls are lined with some of the finest narrative paintings from the Renaissance to be found in Venice. The artist was Vittore Carpaccio and he filled his devotional paintings with finely-observed details of everyday life.
His painting of 'Saint Augustine in his Study' contains, arguably, the most famous image of a dog in Renaissance art.

β β β β β Excellent collection of Vittore Carpaccio paintings dedicated to Saint George. Must see place at Venice. It is difficult to see so many Carpaccio works at the same place. Here it is possible. Donation is six euros.

β β β β β I always wanted to be there. To see the paintings of Carpaccio. The st. Hieronymus cycle is amazing. The place is small and quiet. Something special. Worth coming back.

β β β β β Beautiful church with many gorgeous paintings. Like other reviews said it is a bit pricey in my opinion (12 euros as of this review in May 24 2019) but it is a quiet little gem where you can get away and see a beautiful church with beautiful art. Free English audio guide and handouts in different languages.

β β β β β Very interesting and worth seeing if you enjoy art. The paintings are very different from the typical Renaissance paintings found through the Churches and Art Galleries of Venice. It was unfortunate that one of the big paintings was being restored, but it is the off season. Unique and that is why I would not complain that it feels somewhat expensive for what you are getting. Nice and peaceful part of town as well.
