★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a very nice experience in the Sciamadda... the owner (?) was very gentle and explained to us every meal as the menu is only available in italian... you can get typical local products from the woods and from the sea, cooked with fine herbs. The children had some extra pasta (not on the menu), we enjoyed chestenut-flour pasta, wild boar ragout and baked fish. The chocolate-cake and the chestnut-cake as dessert were very special. Every meal was delicious, the wine tasted good... all in all a very good place to spend money for food and wine.
The interieur was nice, some shabby looking furniture, different tables and chairs, old and vintage (but cool) decoration on the walls, and old and interesting advertisements on the (toilet)walls...
Not a shiny place, not a place for the well dressed supermodel, but a place to feel good and relaxed, even with children... they can have their meal and then play on the nearby big piazza ;-)
We will come back next time on Elba!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful location on the square looking down on the marina and ocean. Only one vegan option which was a delicious chickpea, spinach and tomato soup, but they did a chestnut cake and poached pear for dessert. Great atmosphere with funky decor and friendly staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had the fish here excellent, as were all the dishes we ordered. Lovely friendly reception and patient explanation of the menu despite my lack of Italian. I really want to mention how the small details are taken care of, the bread we were given before we started tasted freshly baked. The carafe of house wine was smooth (some restaurants serve what they can get away with). The whole meal was excellent value. Go there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big disappointment. We booked an outside table for 3 persons at 8.30 p.m. But when we arrived only tables inside were free. The waitress then did not make great efforts to solve the situation. So, food might be good and it definitely is a nice place but ...
