Non fatevi ingannare dell'odierna posizione defilata, sotto il suo arco sono transitate generazioni di viandanti ed ancora oggi è gestita dell'associazione "Mura di Padova" che vi svolge periodiche attività culturali. Aveva anche funzioni difensive con le feritoie per le bocche dei cannoni e il vecchio ponte levatoio che oggi possiamo solo immaginare... Un simbolo di Padova con il Leone Veneziano che spicca ricostruito nel 1930 dopo che i mangiarane francesi lo avevano distrutto nel 1797. Built in 1500 on behalf of the Serenissima Republic and designed by the architect Giovanni Maria Falconetto on an octagonal plan, it is one of the main entrance doors to the city (twin of that of San Giovanni two years younger). Do not be fooled by today's secluded position, generations of travelers have passed under its arch and still today it is managed by the "Mura di Padova" association which carries out periodic cultural activities there. It also had defensive functions with the slits for the cannon mouths and the old drawbridge that today we can only imagine ... A symbol of Padua with the Venetian Lion that stands out rebuilt in 1930 after the French eaters had destroyed it in 1797.
D	Desirée B. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho iniziato a visitare il Museo Narrante con la stazione di Porta Savonarola: un'esperienza multimediale degna di essere vissuta! Con lo stesso biglietto (o meglio, ricevuta) si possono visitare anche gli altri tre siti appartenenti al complesso monumentale delle mura patavine: Porta Liviana, il Torrione Alicorno (meta della mia prossima imminente visita/esperienza) e la "demolita" Porta Codalunga (che ho sentito riapparirà attraverso il miracolo tecnologico della realtà aumentata!). Da quanto ho capito, si tratta solo dell'inizio perché il progetto è in continuo divenire e altre stazioni verranno aperte (e da quanto ho visto, spero il prima possibile!). Colgo l'occasione di rivolgere un plauso anche ai volontari che gestiscono le stazioni: con la loro disponibilità riescono ad aggiungere quel qualcosa in più che è molto apprezzato dal visitatore cultore o meno della materia. I started visiting the Narrante Museum with the Porta Savonarola station: a multimedia experience worth living! With the same ticket (or rather, receipt) you can also visit the other three sites belonging to the monumental complex of the Padua walls: Porta Liviana, the Torrione Alicorno (destination of my next upcoming visit / experience) and the "demolished" Porta Codalunga ( that I heard will reappear through the technological miracle of augmented reality!). From what I understand, this is only the beginning because the project is constantly evolving and other stations will be opened (and from what I have seen, I hope as soon as possible!). I also take this opportunity to applaud the volunteers who manage the stations: with their availability they are able to add that little bit more that is much appreciated by the visitor who is an expert on the subject or not.
