D	Dino Zocco on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è situata nella parte alta di Maiori. Vi si acceda da una lunga scalinata che parte dalla piazza sul corso principale della cittadina. All'interno, vicino all'ingresso, vi è una campana (non funzionante in quanto lesionata) antichissima la cui fusione è avvenuta intirno all'anno 1300. Si può anche visitare un museo nella parte laterale della chiesa. Il soffitto è molto bello e particolare. Si gode inoltre di una vista spettacolare! The church is located in the upper part of Maiori. It is accessed by a long staircase that starts from the square on the main street of the town. Inside, near the entrance, there is a very ancient bell (not working as it was damaged) whose fusion took place around the year 1300. You can also visit a museum in the side of the church. The ceiling is very beautiful and particular. There is also a spectacular view!

In uno stato di degrado superficiale esterno, all'interno si presenta in buono stato e con ambienti apprezzabili e da visitare, dato il culto molto sentito dai cittadini. Dalla pseudo piazza antistante l'ingresso e dai balconi è possibile ammirare la vista spettacolare del mare. All'interno si possono ammirare vari affreschi, non presenta particolari sculture. Se siete di passaggio vale la pena farsi un giro all'interno. Consigliata. I visited this sanctuary during the walk on the lemon path. This sanctuary is in excellent condition, very welcoming. All'interno tante opere d'arte, impossibile enumerarle tutte, va visitata con calma. Un poco faticosa la gradinata scenografica che conduce alla porta principale. All'inizio del 1200 fu trovata sulla spiaggia una statua lignea della Madonna e perciò la chiesa fu intitolata a Santa Maria a Mare! La chiesa ha diversi particolari degni di nota, tra cui il soffitto a cassettoni della navata centrale, la cripta con museo di arte sacra, la cupola con le maioliche colorate e alcuni dipinti nelle Cappelle laterali. La veduta dal colle è molto bella ! Merita una visita, anche se i più pigri dovranno affrontare qualche gradino per salire al colle! It is the main church of Maiori. At the beginning of 1200 a wooden statue of the Madonna was found on the beach and therefore the church was dedicated to Santa Maria a Mare! The church has several noteworthy details, including the coffered ceiling of the central nave, the crypt with museum of sacred art, the dome with colored majolica and some paintings in the side chapels. The view from the hill is very beautiful! It is worth a visit, even if the lazy ones will have to face a few steps to climb the hill!
