P	Pietro Chierichetti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La storia vuole che qui, ove oggi sorge la chiesetta, una ragazzina sordomuta vide apparire su un tronco galleggiante in mezzo al torrente Agogna la Madonna e, dopo essersi sporta per vedere meglio, cadde in acqua, ma, ritornata a riva, la ragazzina riprese a parlare. Un'altra storia vuole che la ragazzina trovò su un ceppo galleggiante nell'Agogna una statua della Madonna e portandola verso Lomello la fanciulla riprese a parlare. L'antico santuario è stato fondato nella prima metà del 1200. L'edificio si presenta oggi col suo rustico mattonato murario e con la maestosità dell'avanportico. Questa caratteristica costruttiva e la distanza del centro abitato fa pensare anche ad un luogo di sosta o ad un lazzaretto, pertanto la costruzione attuale potrebbe risalire ai secoli delle grandi epidemie (XVI e XVII sec.). All’interno è conservato un bell’affresco della Vergine e numerosi ex voto, testimoni della centenaria devozione popolare. Un luogo meraviglioso, pieno di mistero e di fascino. The story goes that here, where the church stands today, a deaf and dumb girl saw the Madonna appear on a floating trunk in the middle of the Agogna stream and, after leaning to see better, she fell into the water, but, returning to the shore, the girl resumed to speak. Another story has it that the girl found a statue of the Madonna on a floating log in the Agogna and taking her to Lomello the girl began to speak again. The ancient sanctuary was founded in the first half of the 1200s. The building today presents itself with its rustic brick wall and with the majesty of the front portico. This construction feature and the distance from the inhabited center also suggest a resting place or a hospital, therefore the current construction could go back to the centuries of the great epidemics (16th and 17th centuries). Inside there is a beautiful fresco of the Virgin and numerous ex votos, witnesses of the centenary popular devotion. A wonderful place, full of mystery and charm.

Con tutta probabilità la sua prima costruzione risale al XIII Secolo, ma le forme attuali suggeriscono dei rimaneggiamenti Cinque-seicenteschi, epoca in cui potrebbe aver avuto funzione di lazzaretto durante le grandi pestilenze. Il portico d'ingresso dona un tocco di grazia in più alla chiesetta, ancora oggi ricca di testimonianze di devozione popolare. È consigliata una visita in primavera inoltrata, per poter godere dei meravigliosi colori che la natura circostante sa esprime in quella stagione, e che rendono il luogo ancor più suggestivo. Small and very precious sanctuary immersed in the Lomellina countryside, whose origin contains deep human and religious meanings. In all likelihood, its first construction dates back to the 13th century, but the current forms suggest sixteenth-seventeenth century alterations, a period in which it may have served as a hospital during the great plagues. The entrance porch gives an extra touch of grace to the church, still rich in testimonies of popular devotion. A visit in late spring is recommended, in order to enjoy the wonderful colors that the surrounding nature expresses in that season, and that make the place even more suggestive.
