La chiesa dell"XI secolo racconta molte leggende come il ritrovamento di un'immagine miracolosa della Madonna, che si trova nella chiesa. Purtroppo la chiesa non è sempre aperta solo per le funzioni domenicali. Una leggenda racconta che questo borgo fu costruito quando la vecchia città di Santa Maria di Galeria fu abbandonata..in circostanze misteriose...e tutt"ora si trova abbandonata nel bosco
 The church of Santa Maria in Celsano is a wonderful place .... still in time like the village that surrounds it in absolute peace, away from the noise of the city. The 11th century church tells many legends such as the finding of a miraculous image of the Madonna, found in the church. Unfortunately the church is not always open only for Sunday functions. A legend says that this village was built when the old the city of Santa Maria di Galeria was abandoned..in mysterious circumstances ... and it is still abandoned in the woods

Consiglio la visita al piccolo museo annesso con catacombe e resti romani antichi: reperti interessanti, personale gentile e preparato che sa coinvolgere anche i bambini in questa piccola perla nascosta ai più. Il borgo e il santuario è largamente usato per matrimoni e cerimonie
Small sanctuary in the village of Galeria within the municipality of Rome, suitable for trips out of town with the whole family. I recommend a visit to the small attached museum with catacombs and ancient Roman remains: interesting finds, kind and trained staff who also know how to involve children in this little gem hidden from most people. The village and the sanctuary is widely used for weddings and ceremonies

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very interesting old country church in the Roman Campagna, in a rather isolated farmstead (the nearest bus stop is a long walk away). Only open for the liturgy, apparently.
