We visited on a Thursday morning, was only another 5 people there, nice church, peaceful atmosphere and when you go into side room we was encouraged to give a donation before entering, is only 50c for a candle. It is a small room which only adds to the atmosphere.

Really sick place to visit!! Remember to not wear only a thank top and shorts in summer or they would not allow you to go in. It’s a really small ossuary. The β€œcollection” shows lots of skulls and the ceiling is pretty adorned with bones as well. It’s free entry which is really pleasant compared to other ossuaries I have been. If you are visiting the Dome Cathedral area, definitely worth a check.

Worth the visit but can be a bit crowded depending on what time you go. The actual room with all the skulls is quite small and since there’s no control of the inflow of people then you might be bumping elbows in there. I’d recommend going early in the day on a weekday if possible. No charge but can leave a donation.

The bone church. Similar to the one in Prague. A strange testament to the fragility of life. The walls of the church are built with human bones. It dates back from the XIII th Century, restored in XVII th century. Old info mentions that in the beginning of the XIII th Century the walls of the chapel were decorated with frescoes painted by Sebastiano Ricci, a forerunner of Tiepolo, who introduced Venetian baroque to Milan, while the skull and bones were later added after the renovation works. A dark and impressive site to visit.
