G	GIORGIO CERUTTI on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Santuario, situato nel comune di Portula sulle pendici del Monte Civetta, è dedicato alla Madonna delle Grazie ed è famoso per la tradizionale "Festa dei Ciclamini" che si svolge ogni anno l'ultima domenica di luglio. Il Santuario della Novareia è stato eretto sul luogo di una presunta apparizione della Vergine ad un'anziana del luogo, avvenuta nel 1650 circa. In quest'apparizione la Vergine avrebbe chiesto l'erezione di una chiesa. Tuttavia, inizialmente fu eretta solo una piccola cappella di fronde. La costruzione dell'attuale edificio è successiva ad una presunta seconda apparizione avvenuta nel 1712 e accompagnata da una guarigione miracolosa. La chiesa settecentesca, ad una sola navata e con ampio porticato, venne eretta nel XVIII secolo e fu completata nel corso del XIX secolo. Contiene la statua della Madonna, opera di Aurelio Termine, il pulpito ligneo, l'altare maggiore con balaustra e alcune importanti tele ottocentesche. La semplice ed elegante facciata a capanna è preceduta da un portico di notevole ampiezza, utilizzato come luogo di ristoro dei pellegrini. Nel piazzale antistante la chiesa è stata collocata una statua in onore della Vergine, oltre ad un'interessante fontana in granito. The Sanctuary, located in the municipality of Portula on the slopes of Monte Civetta, is dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie and is famous for the traditional "Festa dei Ciclamini" which takes place every year on the last Sunday of July. The Sanctuary of the Novareia was erected on the site of an alleged apparition of the Virgin to an old woman of the place, which occurred in about 1650. In this apparition the Virgin would have asked for the erection of a church. However, initially it was erected only a small chapel fronds. The construction of the current building follows an alleged second appearance in 1712 and was accompanied by a miraculous cure. The eighteenth-century church, with a single nave and large porch, was built in the 18th century and was completed during the 19th century. It contains the statue of the Madonna, by Aurelio Termine, the wooden pulpit, the high altar with a balustrade and some important nineteenth-century paintings. The simple and elegant gabled façade is preceded by a portico of considerable size, used as a resting place for pilgrims. In the square in front of the church there is a statue in honor of the Virgin, as well as an interesting granite fountain.

Ideale per correre o per una biciclettata in compagnia. Quiet and easily accessible both by car and on foot (recommended) with a 30-minute walk from the hamlet of Castagnea (Portula). Ideal for running or for a bike ride with friends.

E	Enrico Ripamonti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Luogo di notevole suggestione non solo per il silenzio ed i boschi che lo circondano e che ne fanno una meta tradizionale per escursionisti e "runners" lungo la sterrata che si inoltra in Val Sessera ma soprattutto per le apparizioni della Madonna che qui sarebbero avvenute addirittura due volte, in secoli diversi. Purtroppo la posizione isolata ha finito per avvantaggiare anche i ladri che l'hanno spogliato di alcune tele e del pulpito in legno: logico, quindi, trovare il santuario quasi sempre chiuso. Place of remarkable suggestion not only for the silence and the woods that surround it and that make it a traditional destination for hikers and "runners" along the dirt road that goes into Val Sessera but above all for the apparitions of the Madonna that here would have happened even two times, in different centuries. Unfortunately the isolated position has ended up benefiting even the thieves who have stripped it of some canvases and of the wooden pulpit: therefore, it is logical to find the sanctuary almost always closed.
E	Ebe Navarini #rispettoperledonne on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bella passeggiata in mezzo ai boschi ma con strada sterrata ampia, ragione per cui ci sono parecchie auto in transito. L'ideale sarebbe non permettere l'accesso alle auto. Si trova al di sopra del centro storico di Portula e il sentiero parte da Castagnea, toponimo che dice tutto. Cani rigorosamente al guinzaglio per la presenza di altri cani e animali selvatici da salvaguardare. Consigliato. (Oggi 13.9.20, Giornata del Paesaggio, Villa Zegna, FAI, aperta con concerto) Nice walk in the woods but with a wide dirt road, which is why there are many cars in transit. Sono presenti panchine e tavoli dove effettuare picnic ed una fontana potabile a cui abbeverarsi. Ci sono anche dei comodi cassonetti dove buttare la spazzatura. Consigliato! Nice clean and friendly place with a pleasant walk among the trees. There are benches and tables for picnics and a drinking fountain to drink from. There are also convenient bins where you can throw out the garbage. Advised!
