★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cappella di San Rocco è stata costruita nel XV secolo in aperta campagna, molto probabilmente dopo esser diventata rifugio di appestati, quando la quadra di Mura fu messa in quarantena verso la fine del 1500.
Da qui maturò la decisione di edificare un oratorio a San Rocco, protettore dei malati di peste, nei pressi della chiesa di San Giovanni.
Nello specifico, si presentava come un oratorio rettangolare chiuso da tre lati e aperto ad ovest mediante un arco a sesto acuto che poggiava su due grosse mensole di pietra che fungevano da capitelli.
The chapel of San Rocco was built in the fifteenth century in the open countryside, most likely after becoming a refuge for plague victims, when the square of Mura was quarantined towards the end of the 1500s.
From here came the decision to build an oratory in San Rocco, protector of plague patients, near the church of San Giovanni.
Specifically, it appeared as a rectangular oratory closed on three sides and open to the west by a pointed arch that rested on two large stone corbels that served as capitals.
