I have been trying for 3 days to get an appointment with the nuerologist. They cancelled on my first appointment when I called to confirm 2 hours before the scheduled slot saying the doctor had an emergency, which I understand. Today, I took a personal leave from my work to come for the appointment. I live one hour away and paid 60 Euros for taxi one way. And I have been waiting for the past 2 hours. They let people in without any system of tracking the appointments. Its totally upto the Nurse - guy to let the first person who he sees inside. 2 hours and I am still waiting.... The guy just came out and asked me how I fixed my appointment..and who I spoke with. They ask me this after 2 hours of waiting? So unprofessional. Why give out appointments wasting peoples time and money when you dont have slots.. I would have gone to another hospital. Utterly disappointed.

Many years ago, December 1980, I was an American student in Rome and went in for an emergency situation to Salvator Mundi. Il Professore Di Stefano operated and saved my life. Wonderful, compassionate, and loving care.

I was in Rome on vacation when my doctor from US called to tell me that lab results showed I had a very bad infection that required an IV with antibiotic immediately. Upon going to Salvator Mundi hospital, they took immediate care and were extremely caring and speedy. I would highly recommend this hospital to any US residents needing care while here on vacation. Also, they spoke English well and understood situation.

We received excellent service from this hospital. My wife called for an appointment and explained her medical problem in the morning. The staff person promised to call back. Within a couple of hours she actually did call back with a same-day appointment. This was already better service than we often get in the U.S.! She had researched which physician would be best for my wife's problem and set up the appointment accordingly. When we arrived at the hospital we received prompt and polite service (in English) and waited only a few minutes before seeing the doctor. We were completely satisfied with the entire experience. There has been some confusion evident in other reviews about this hospital's service. As a private hospital in Italy, it has no emergency services. So you cannot expect immediate emergency treatment if you arrive with a medical problem. Secondly, the hospital could not accept our American medical insurance; we had to pay up front and request reimbursement from our insurer on our own. I expect this is typical for Americans visiting a private Italian hospital. The charge for our visit was less than half what we would have paid in the U.S.!

Went in for some basic blood tests! It’s close to my place, I have private insurance, I thought I give the place a try. All I can say thank God the lady who did the blood test was very good and professional, everyone else incompetent and useless. They messed up place of birth, phone number and even the exams which were for them written in capital letters on a paper! Had to call several times to get the test online via email, it should have been encrypted with a code but came as a normal PDF Not to mention that the total price of the exams was three times more a normal private lab!! Not impressed at all!

I called 3 times. The first 2 calls were disconnected when I asked if the lady spoke English. The third time I urged her not to hang up. She finally offered an appointment in the evening with a surgeon. I did not need a surgeon so I left it. There is nothing 'international' about this hospital. Never again.

On the grounds of the hospital on the upper left side of the building facing the main entrance, there is a tiny but well tended small garden where my husband and I were planning to take a stroll after a stressful visit at the hospital. But be aware! A menacing nun turned us away as soon as she saw us approaching the garden shouting "This is private property!" . So much for sharing according to the teachings of the Catholic religion.....

I broke my foot while on vacation in Rome. I went in on a Sunday to the emergency room. I was asked to show guarantee of payment before I was given any service or medical attention. After I gave them one guarantee of payment for $500 for the inital consult, they told me that it was possible that my foot was broken and they needed an X-ray. All this took almost 2 hours and I was told that the X-ray department was closed and that the X-ray doc is not in the hospital. The docs said that I needed another guarantee of payment for $2500 for the X-ray and that they would have to keep me overnight if I got an X-ray which made no sense at all. I got the gurantee of payment and the X-ray doc finally came after a total of 3 hours. I was moved to a room afterwards and finally served okay-ish lunch around 4 pm. Dinner at 7pm. I asked if I could leave early in the morning around 4am but they said that they could not check me out so early. After I pleaded with them, they agreed to check me out early since I had a flight to catch so I could be repatriated back home. The front desk is terrible and I feel like I was grossly overcharged despite having insurance. Most of the nurses were nice though but doctors and nurses barely spoke english. We hand-signed a lot.
