★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The unique property of this winery is their eco-friendliness and sustainability. They even use pipes to transfer sunlight to their wine cellar in order to save energy. The most popular Salcheto wine is the "Nobile di Montepulciano".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a Degustation “I classici” for 10€. It have been 3 wines (quality increasing) for tasting, the ROSSO (10€), the NOBILE (17€), and the SALCO (37€). Each Glas was not more then 1/8l. The 10€ have not been counted against the wine I bought afterwards. (Should be possible from 100€ purchase).
There was no water served with the wine, and my wife which did not drink wine also no water was offered.
The information on the wine was given very quick and with words from the stock.
The location is very nice and you can have meals also in bigger groups with reservation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The winery was established in 1994 and recently (2005) went Uber "green" and they never stop reminding you. The tour focuses on their sustainability and not the significant history of Vino Nobile. It costs 15 euro and includes a tasting. The wine is good but you only try four wines. The food was mediocre and cost between 16 euro (vegetarian) and 19 euro (meat). The most recent Vino Nobile costs 17 euro a bottle and doesn't stand up to a Brunello, which you can find for 13 euro.
Overall a poor tour, good wine, and meh food in a convienent location. Pick a different winery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday my friend and I visited Salcheto Winehouse and did a tour and tasting. The tour started off with a sweet white wine that resembled apple juice. We then were taken on a very short tour of just the cellars. No mention of grapes, vines, climate, soil or anything one would like to know that makes particular wines special and taste the way they do. We learned some amazing facts about sustainability and the practices the vineyard uses. That was very inspiring and the reason we came in the first place. We then had an awkward and horrible tasting of three wines (the website said four?) where the woman would disappear for 15 minutes in between each pour and leave us to make awkward small talk with the other people on the tour. She didn’t bring out all the wine to start, like any other tasting ever. The wines were not good. Their Nobile was the only one that was drinkable, but we definitely didn’t want more. The worst part of the whole experience was that it costs 16 Euro each... and we’ve been traveling all over Tuscan Wine Coutry for days having incredible and free tastings and tours. This area has such phenomenal wine and this vineyard is a letdown and disappointment and waste on money. I do not recommend to any real wine lover.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not bad wines, but their prices in enotecas, and supermarkets are much lower. Vino nobile 2017 in supermarket cost 13.8, and in winery it cost 17. Feels a bit tourist-trappy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great, fun, informational wine tour, tasting and lunch. We had a great time learning about this eco friendly winery. New ways of thinking and doing stuff and wonderful wine. We ended our tour with a tasting and shared lunch. Perfect afternoon visit.
