★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Auf dem Gipfel des Monte Grappa (1775 m) befindet sich das „Sacrario del Monte Grappa“, eine Gedenkstätte für die Gefallenen der sogenannten Piaveschlachten im Ersten Weltkrieg. Dabei ließen tausende an italienischen und österreichisch-ungarischen Soldaten ihr Leben.
Das Denkmal wurde im Jahr 1930 von der damaligen faschistischen Regierung Italiens errichtet. In dem dazugehörigen Ossarium liegen die Überreste von 12.615 italienischen und 10.295 österreichischen Soldaten. Die Gipfelregion gilt heutzutage als heilige Zone und darf nur zu Fuß betreten werden.
 At the summit of Monte Grappa (1775 m) is the "Sacrario del Monte Grappa", a memorial to the dead of the so-called Piave battles during the First World War. Thousands of Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers lost their lives.
The monument was erected in 1930 by the then fascist government of Italy. In the associated Ossarium are the remains of 12,615 Italian and 10,295 Austrian soldiers. The summit region is now considered a sacred area and may only be entered on foot.

Durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, i fronti del Grappa con le zone del Piave, furono teatro di alcuni dei più tragici, eroici e sanguinari conflitti. A memoria di ciò che accadde e a monito perché non si ripeta mai più.
Inside the Monte Grappa Memorial, at one end of the Via Eroica, there is this small chapel dedicated to the fallen of the conflict. During the First World War, the Grappa fronts with the Piave areas were the scene of some of the most tragic, heroic and bloody conflicts. In memory of what happened and as a warning that it never happens again.
