Romantik Hotel Santer

Hotel Santer since a long time my stop in the dobbiaco it is a beautiful hotel family owned and run with a wonderful Spa where nothing is missing with a beautiful view on the bush and mountains. moreover the restaurant is great and is open with a short menú all day long also for travellers. the flavour of this place is unique in Montana Style

We had a very bad experience at this hotel. I will start by saying the hotel itself is a nice and clean place. The food is fine and the location is convenient. However, the staff is horrendous and very unfriendly, with a few exceptions. We arrived there around 22:00, and they were already mad at us because the check in time is until 19:00 (we did not know that beforehand), so the woman in the front desk was very aggressive and made it clear that they were doing us a favor by letting us stay in their hotel. We were six adults and three babies, and at the time of booking, we did not find any option for kids or babies. The woman in the front desk was very upset because we had babies and made us pay more for each of them; she even suggested that kids couldn’t sleep with their parents in the same room! We were simply shocked to hear that. After a long discussion, they finally checked us in and we went to sleep. A little bit after, the concierge attendant came to one of the rooms, (supposedly) knocked at the door, and didn’t wait for the door to be opened. My wife and daughter were inside, and the guy opened the door, woke up my daughter who has just fall sleep and aggressively started asking my wife for my daughter’s date of birth. When I came in, I saw my wife surprised and scared and asked the guy to leave. This behavior is totally unacceptable and was a transgression to our personal space. When I asked the guy why this aggression, he just replied that his bosses wanted to know my daughter’s date of birth, which we have given to them early on during the check in process. This was scary. Next morning were about to have breakfast and another male person in the reception (he looks like the owner –I can say from the photos in the front desk that leads me to think it is a family hotel -) denied access to my 1-year daughter augmenting that she had to pay for the breakfast. The most absurd thing!!!, a baby that old barely eats, maybe she would eat a piece of bread and that’s it, and the guy was asking to pay for her breakfast? What was he thinking? In general, the hotel is nice, but the staff is very aggressive, unfriendly and it is obvious that money comes first before a good service. There is no excuse to justify their behavior with us. Beware people with families.

Spa is out of this world. So much space, and different options. Dedicated sauna and steam area, outdoor and indoor pools, quiet area and a range of other areas to relax. Hotel itself has clean cosy rooms, friendly staff, and good breakfast buffet with nice touches like waffle iron and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Fantastic place to be. Large, clean rooms - great breakfast and superb dinner with many choices - friendly personnel - wonderful spa with good massage - a complete wellness centre but still focused on individuals. Perfect place to be for cross country ski (skating) with so many tracks nearby. Even possibility to start in backyard. Several winters spent over there with the family.

If I were in charge of awarding stars, the Hotel Santer would easily achieve 10. From the very first moment we arrived and throughout our stay, the staff were attentive to our every need. The food was exceptional and brought to your table by a team of mercurial staff! We will be back!

Exceptionally a place. Precise, helpful, friendly staff. The best breakfast. The best for me.

Wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. Really really enjoyed our stay and we will be back! Calm, friendly and beautiful spaces to enjoy yourself and food wasn’t bad either… go there and relax!

The place to be if you like cross country skiing, great spa and good food!
