La cattedrale è stata ricostruita dopo il terremoto degli anni novanta che ne aveva fatto crollare la cupola e parte della navata principale. Qui sono conservate le spoglie di San Corrado Confalonieri patrono di Noto che viene festeggiato il 19 febbraio e dopo 2domeniche seguenti ripetono la festa chiamata "l'ottava". Inoltre la festa viene ripetuta l'ultima domenica di agosto e l'ottava la prima domenica di settembre. P. S. Credo che sia il Santo Patrono che esce ogni anno per i festeggiamenti quattro volte...!
