F	Federica Furiato on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Basilica di Cassano è conosciuta tra la gente del paese come Cattedrale perché per molto tempo ha avuto questa funzione. È un bellissimo organismo edilizio realizzato intorno al 1100 sui ruderi di un antico tempio. La cripta sotterranea ospita nel periodo natalizio un presepe semovente incantevole, aperto al pubblico, da visitare assolutamente. La chiesa è aperta tutto l'anno e ospita le manifestazioni e ricorrenze importanti del calendario ecclesiastico così come le funzioni domenicali, aperta anche per matrimoni... tornando all'aspetto architettonico possiamo apprezzare l'impianto a croce latina della chiesa e i bellissimi interventi del barocco in facciata e nei dipinti interni. Importante per la popolazione è la statua della Madonna Addolorata, venerata da tutti e portata in processione in venerdì santo! I suoi sono veri, lunghi capelli di una donna del paese che per voto li donò alla statua secoli fa e il vestito è stato cucino a mano in velluto e fili di oro. Tra Natale e Pasqua venite a vedere e vivere tutto questo! The Basilica of Cassano is known among the people of the town as a Cathedral because it had this function for a long time. It is a beautiful building structure built around 1100 on the ruins of an ancient temple. During the Christmas period, the underground crypt hosts an enchanting self-propelled nativity scene, open to the public, to be visited absolutely. The church is open all year round and hosts important events and anniversaries of the ecclesiastical calendar as well as Sunday functions, also open for weddings ... returning to the architectural aspect we can appreciate the Latin cross layout of the church and the beautiful interventions of the Baroque on the facade and in the interior paintings. Important for the population is the statue of Our Lady of Sorrows, venerated by all and carried in procession on Good Friday! Hers is the real, long hair of a local woman who gave it to the statue centuries ago by vote and the dress was hand-sewn in velvet and gold threads. Between Christmas and Easter, come and see and experience all this!
