Fu edificata intorno all'anno 1000 ed era una struttura difensiva fluviale. Si trova nella riva meridionale del fiume Po e dalla sua postazione partiva una catena fino alla Rocca Benedetta di Ficarolo (sull'altra sponda del fiume) che veniva tirata all'occorrenza crendo così uno sbarramento fluviale per imporre il dazio doganale o per difesa. È un bene protetto dall'UNESCO dal 1995 e il percorso cicloturistico della Destra Po ci passa di fianco. The Rocca di Stellata, also called Rocca Possente, is located in the hamlet of Stellata, municipality of Bondeno, province of Ferrara. It was built around the year 1000 and was a river defensive structure. It is located on the southern bank of the Po river and from its position a chain started up to the Rocca Benedetta di Ficarolo (on the other side of the river) which was pulled if necessary, thus creating a river barrier to impose customs duties or for defense. It has been protected by UNESCO since 1995 and the Destra Po cycling route passes alongside it.
