I loved the setting! The feel of the place was great. The gardens nicely kept, beautiful pool and beach! I thought the staff could smile a bit more. Many seemed rather grumpy, especially at the breakfast room. The receptionists were very welcoming and smiley though. Thank you!!! The service was very good and food excellent. I had a great time and will happily return. The Italians do things so well and still offer the best food and wine, not to mention the beautiful language! A few more smiles and a bit of warmth from the personnel would help a lot though.

Darks & lights. Summary: superb location, good structure and pleasant stay - but managment is very "policy" oriented and customer is not "treated" like a 4-star superior but rather like a tourist village factory, which given the pricetag is not what you'd expect. PRO: location, fantastic sea&beach, many activities, pool, overall structure, available facilities, recreational activities CONS: the direction does not shine for "listening" and clearly staff is asked to stick to policies no matter what - even when there are good reason - allowed to treat customers in a rude way. Reception with lack of courtesy and low listening attitude. Staff around the campus is indeed nice, it's more a "topdown" issue. My staying was indeed awesome. Rented a flat, the interior is ok-ish really a 3 star as advertised, and a little pricey for the interior - but the overall location is terrific so it was really nice. You'd just expect a little more "care" given prices (e.g. no toilet papaer or a wash soap at the arrival...when you arrive... not much more .. but you have blankets and towels). However, in 2 occasion - I was clearly reminded the hotel is managed more like a factory rather than the 4star hotel you'd expect with care to family needs. My children had a small finger fractured on the beack and hospital suggested I needed a left hand tutor. I searched all local pharmacies (including hotel), but lost days with no luck. So went for Amazon - to get that important piece in this remote area and ave child playing safely. I discovered that if you ask a parcel to arrive you are charged 15 to 25 euros handling. Given the tutor was 20 Eur, and I was having a staying in the range of 200 euro/day + restaurant .... I called the staff explaining the problem and the fact I was not oredering book for the beach but a healtcare treat for 8 year old boy. It was not the chargebut the principle of a family need in a 4 star hotel with a pricetag not for anybody. They didn't get it: did not change mind and even when asked to manager, they said fee would apply anyway as it's "the policy". I sent a email with a copy of the Amazon order content to director, saying I would love" to discuss the matter at check out Wife was called the day after to say they would finally make the exception. At a point I was suggest to ask the Amazon guy to call me and wait outside to avoid the charge.. 4 star? Family ? When you pay thousands - this kind of exception should not require harsh discussion..... Second time at checkout. In this time, the pool must be booked only once in slot of 2 hours max (covid). We booked in advance,the pool on the day of check out (due at 10) from 10.00 to 12.00 so we would eat locally and leave. Staff accepted. After loading car and having all ready we took children to pool where they said we could not enter the pool as aat 10.00 we were checking out.We went to check out where the reception not only confirmed the rule, but also told us quite firmly with check out all services are stopped immediately. Now the pool was just to have children play wait lunch; it was not crowded as new guest were coming on day after. I then asked if we could then go back to our place on the beach, that in our documents was confirmed for that day. She replied, (1) I don't know (2) YOU need to ask to the guy on the seaside (3) but services stop when check out is done, so I think no. We did not argue - I took our paper with the printed date to the person in charge on the beach who allowed us. Regret: children disappointed, reception lady was quite "I'm the power here"; she could have asked somebody at concierge to call or check with the guy on the beach. Nope, do it yourself buddy. This was the greeting after just paying all services for a couple of thousand euros. Way to say goodbye! A couple hours on beach or pool is never a problem if it's not full. Reception has clearly "policies" top of mine before listen to customers. Bitter ending for a super staying.

My husband and I were delighted to have stayed four nights with you. Every staff member provided us with information needed. The clientele were mainly Germans and Italians, which for us Americans, we considered a bonus. We will see you again next September!

Traveled with two kids. I love the scenery, the beach and the whole environement. The staff is super friendly and very professional. But: The pool for kids and babys are way too cold, sensless room selection (above the piano bar) prearrival from the reservation staff. Buffetprice 29 euros for kids is a joke, in genereal the whole facility is highly overpriced! I would rather give every staff more salary/or tip than pay another night in the future, sorry but I will not come back and I am heartbroken to say that. I can just recommend it to people with a solid double income.

Good service in a wonderful place. We look forward to no corona limits at the spa and gym in future holidays. Miss an ordinary supermarket as before, a little bit to touristic now. Fantastic staff and service everywere at Riva del Sole. Al clean, nice and good maintenance. I miss a little bit equipment in the kitchen in the apartment.

The surrounding nature and beach were beautiful, hotel rooms although very clean I didn't like the interior design at all and all the restrictions to small adaptations. I understand covid restrictions but unfortunately the pools were not too available to us this time which the kids really got sad for. I think some of the reception was very firendly and willing to help in anything but being in the hotel industry the management didn't seem up to par. For the price we paid the service was not what we expected.

We returned to Riva del Sole after 25 years. The hotel has been fully renovated and the rooms are wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful. A special mention goes to Simona at the front desk, Alessandra at the restaurant and Stefano at the Spa. They all made our stay even more enjoyable! Will be returning next year! Some criticisms: We opted for half board - to be honest, we were somewhat disappointed by the food... would have preferred some simple dishes once in a while. The restaurant is lovely, but the green fake grass carpet is cheap looking .... Finally, some more adult entertainment would be appreciated. But the positives out way the negatives by far!
