★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is without a doubt the all-around best restaurant I have ever been to. Service was first class, and quite speedy for Italy, even though the restaurant had upwards of 80 customers when we were eating there. Appetizers came quickly, and were first-in-class. The first course was elegantly presented and consisted of the best pasta either of us had seen in Italy (which is saying something). Second course was high quality, expertly prepared, with beautiful presentation. Dessert was flawless.
The menu has a lot of selection, particularly considering how far off the beaten path this gem of a restaurant is. If you're looking for something less fancy, this place also specializes in excellent pizzas and other straightforward fare.
The price for a four course meal for two wouldn't purchase a pair of entrees at a middle-of-the-road restaurant in anywhere USA. Insanely affordable, even as a regular outing.
The best part? The restaurant is perched at the top of the mountain village of Montefusco, with an unbelievable view. More than half of the capacity of the restaurant sit on patio seating, and after sunset, the countryside below you lights up like a field of stars. If you even have a chance to visit the region, or if you live close enough to drive to it, this establishment is a must-visit!
